Morning all, I won't say "GOOD" Ros has changed the bed this morning. Our bed lifts from the bottom with storage underneath. When she lifted it this morning to put the clean bottom fitted sheet on. THE BLOODY BED WON'T GO DOWN. As you push the mattress down, up comes the headboard and my side of the bed. So my side is at least SIX INCHES higher than her side. So you can imagine how, I would roll over and we would likely roll off her side of the bed. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0. I have tried locating BENSONS for BEDS who we bought it from. THEY do not have a contact number for the local store, and the 0808 number can't take any calls. So I am completely stumped. I have contacted Harvey, who is working in London today, and he will come straight here up the motorway this evening. Lets hope he can sort it, or we will be in a right old mess for sleeping tonight.
Needless to say I haven't, as yet, read any postings. I'll try to do that later.

<3 <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANN <3 <3 <3
Have a wonderful day at beading today and let us know what else you did later on please.
O Frank what a thing to happen with your bed. It sounds like the linkage for the lifting has gone wrong somehow. I hope Harvey can fix it for you as you will be sleeping all wonky tonight otherwise.
I can't seem to get on today and am sitting here only half dressed. I must go and put some trousers on and get rid of my jim jam bottoms. I have been out watering the plants on the patio and thats about it so far today.
I must also pick the strawberries as when I walk past them I can smell them so they tell me they want picking.

Annx did you see my note about fat quarters available in the Range?
Yes I am sure they would collect dust and are really only practical for a large display to the public they didn#t look dusty so maybe they had been 'cleaned' I would think hoovering would be difficult because of all the lose layers to be sucked in.
Oh dear Ann, loo seat down in future. Our toothbrushes and OH's shaving stuff is in the cabinet over the loo in the bathroom. I always put the seat down before opening the cupboard door!!
Just back from the Tesco shop, it was very hot but we have to go out again this afternoon as I have to have my ears syringed.
Heard yesterday that for 3 months from mid August we are set to have 4 way traffic lights in the cross roads we use almost daily. What a pain, this is about the 3rd or 4th time Wales and West utilities have dug up that main road in the past three or four years. It causes so much disruption as it is on the way to six schools.
Wondering how Janice's dog is settling. It may be that he is from an English speaking kennels in Spain, it does tend to be the British who organise these re-homings.

Oh dear Frank, you're not having a good day are you? Sorry to hear about your bed and hope Harvey can fix it for you later. Hope your day has got better.
Looking forward to seeing a picture of Chelsea in her pretty dress Mandy.
Did you make something nice at your beading class Ann? Did you do something special for your birthday afterwards?
Sandra has eaten all her strawberries Mel, she said they were delicious. How many have you picked? I have days like you sometimes where, even though I've got up early, I can't seem to get on with things, they all seem to take a age and then before you know it the day's gone and you haven't done as much as you'd have wanted to.
The suns out at the moment but there's a cool breeze around, we've had one or two showers of rain, so not gardening weather today. I didn't fancy dodging the showers all day, so apart from watering the toms in the greenhouse and picking up some leaves this morning, nothing else has been done. I have done well on OH's tree today though, so it's not all bad. I had a few days like Mel where I couldn't really get going on his tree so hardly any people were added. I'm glad today is better.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANN <3 <3 <3 <3 I hope today has been a lovely day for you .I cant remember if you said you were going out for a Carvery after Beading. If you did I hope you had a delicious meal :-D
Oh good heavens Frank, what a dilemma with your bed !!!!!! How bad that you have been unable to get in touch with Bensons at all :-S. I hope that Harvey can get to you in plenty of time to try and fix it for tonight.
Janice and Larry will be at Glos Service Station now to pick up Jorge. I hope he will be ok after such a long and no doubt stressful journey. At least it will just be a very short trip now to Tewkesbury .I hope Janice sends me a pic later :-D
I have had an easy day today as my leg is quite swollen and uncomfortable . I think I probably over did it yesterday. Chris has cleaned and changed all the beds today ,been to Tesco ,and the Co-op ,washed my feet ,and deheaded the flowers. Superman or what :-D :-D.
H&G will be here this evening .We are having Pasta,Meatballs in a Aubergine and Red Pepper Sauce. So nice and straightforward :-D

sorry you are uncomfortable Jane I hope the swelling goes down, no doubt Chris is keeping an eye on it (as well as doing all those jobs). I wonder if the heat is causing the swelling. Is this the side of your new hip?

Afternoon All,
Thank you all for the lovely cards and birthday wishes!! :-D :-D AnnG you make some lovely cards, OH was impressed! :-) The day started with a COT in bed with OH doing a birthday jig around the bed singing Happy birthday to you!! He's far too cheerful for first thing in the morning. lol We had our usual lunch today but I will probably have my birthday lunch on Monday and maybe at Pesto again, the italian restaurant. I knew I'd be quite late back from beading so it will be less rushed on Monday. The local jeweller who made my eternity ring starts her 50% off sale preview on Wednesday, so I'm going to see if my pressie from OH is there! She doesn't open the shop to the public till 3 days after so there's more choice at the preview. :-) If not, I might look at a new camera.
I just carried on with the bracelet this morning Gill, but one of the ladies was wearing her tie dye T shirt and it looked great with the mauve necklace she made a while back. I bought one of the CDs she took part in and was selling in aid of a children's hospice. She is the one who sings and plays guitar in a small group. She also does african drumming, circle dancing and has an allotment. We had a short shower while we were there, but nothing much.
My knee hasn't been it's best today so we just picked up the rest of my prescription on the way home and haven't been anywhere else. Despite me writing a note to the doctor, he'd just issued what was on my last prescription and still not put the item on repeat. :-S :-S Why do they do that without contacting you to say why or do they just not read any note you put in? If you have to see them face to face to ask it just means using up more appointments which wastes everyone's time.
Oh dear Frank, it sounds like you have one of those beds in Some Mothers Do 'Ave Em! It does sound like the lifting gear has slipped on the adjustment so I hope Harvey can fix it for you. You'll have to sleep on the mattress on the floor otherwise.
Mandy, the lady has made quilts, so I bet that's where she got the idea from. Fancy Chelsea going to High School, how the time flies! I look forward to seeing a pic of her in her dress and new sandals. :-) Is Jake at the same school she will be going to?
Yes I saw your note about the fat quarters AnnG and forgot to thank you. We have The Range this side of the city and I am due a visit, so will look out for them. They do some good craft stuff and picture frames and mounts. :-D
Mel, you seem to be doing well with your strawberries this year.......they do smell nice don't they! Can you hear the Swallow babies yet? I hope you can rig something up to catch the mess this time.
OH called me a while ago to see an ambulance struggling to turn through the gap at the end of the close to come out. Exactly the problems we told the planning people would happen when they allowed the new properties to be built. We think it had been to the house where the elderly Asian couple live. A neighbour whose fence was in danger of being demolished had gone out to help guide him. Then 10 minutes later OH dashed outside as a big white van was reversing right up our drive to the back of my car after driving forward onto the drive opposite. When OH asked what he wanted, he said he was turning around and just drove off. We knew when the neighbours blocked their drives off the problem would move to us and our driveways. OH said if we stay here we'll have to put something up ourselves.
I'm going to indulge in a nice cream choux bun now......well the pastry is slimming if nothing else!

Ann Franks bed is one that lifts up from the bottom with storage underneath. Ros lifted it up this morning but it wouldnt go back down again !!!!!! Big problem :-S
Yes it is my hip op side that is swollen. The thigh.I don't think the heat has made it worse, just me walking too much and maybe just usung one crutch is not the best thing. So I will go back to 2 crutches .As Chris keeps telling me it was a big op and only 2 weeks ago so I need to be sensible and not think I am able to do all sorts too soon. It is hard though as I get so fed up sat in a bloody chair and just pottering. Chris has done far more than he needs to really and I think is wearing himself out. But who am I to tell him otherwise :-D. He will do what he wants .I think he deserves a medal :-D
Frank, Jorge will not have ot go into Quarantine . (I think that has stopped now) as all dogs have to have had Rabies jabs and have their own passports . All health checks have been done and he has been castrated and he is chipped with Janices address. It is all done through DEFRA(I think) . They have even been able to track his journey. Really well organised and done professionally . I am hoping by now they might be home with him and that there has been no hold ups.
I said to Janice he will not understand English Mandy :-D But I don't think that be a problem . Just a kind voice ,food and lots of gentle love and patience is all he will need.I just hope he doesn't use the house as a toilet as he has been in a pound for a long while .He is one year old apparently and a small dog. (much smaller than he looks in the pic.)
H&G will be here about 7.30 :-D

Yummy A Choux Bun :-D They are lovely Ann.I hope you enjoyed it :-D Do you have something in mind from the jeweller for a pressie? Or will you just see if something takes your fancy ? Sorry your knee has played up today of all days. But a nice meal at Pesto on Monday will be good. I remembered you have said before about that restaurant and you enjoyed the food there.
That sounded all a bit chaotic with the Ambulance and then the big white van.You must have to keep your eyes open with your car on the drive and all these vehicles having to reverse and turn in the close. The last few nights there have been a couple of big trucks that have driven up the road and then turned around at the barrier ,and parked up for the night !!!. It has never happened before. Usually these big trucks use the lay-bys on the A14 for a sleepover. So why they are coming up here I have no idea. It is annoying as they are noisy with the beeping reversing noise and engine sound.I am sure they should not be allowed to do this on a residential road. That is my gripe for today :-D

I have been playing all afternoon with my felt. Its taking a long time but it is very intricate.
Ann what you need is those poles you can have set inthe driveway that you let down when you want to go out and put back up so nobody can drive up your drive. They can be a nuisance but if it stops people turning there it would be good.
Sounds like you have had a good day out and about and I can just imagine G dancing around singing happy birthday.

Thanks for the explanation Jane. Now here is a strange thing. I actually checked the posts back three times looking for a post from Frank about his bed and nothing. That was on my desk top. I have just gone back again on the IPad and found four posts that I had not seen before and Franks was one of them. Hope Harvey can fix it for you Frank. Jane, no today is definitely Friday.. what are you like. And yes use two crutches to avoid putting strain on that leg.
Ann that is a concern the speed these delivery vans drive you don’t want them backing into your car. One of the lockable posts would be a good idea. A nuisance for you but hopefully would be a deterrent.
Gill yes the gardens were great so much veg and fruit as well, a huge Victoria plum tree and another different plum a very large apple tree and loads of raspberry bushes. Plus shrubs and flowers and in one garden, 4 greenhouses.

Evening everyone
It’s been a funny sort of day here. At times it’s been quite hot and heavy, then it came over all dark and looked as though it was about to pour, then the wind got up and it cooled down a bit, then the sun came out and the whole cycle started over again. At the moment it’s quite muggy. I think it’s going to be a hot night.
I know it’s not really funny Frank but I did have to laugh at your bed. I could just picture first one end of the bed rising up, pull that down and the other end comes up, just like something out of an old farce :-D. I hope Harvey has managed to fix it for you now.
Sorry to hear your leg’s swollen and sore Jane. You have probably tried to do too much too soon. Take it easy for a day or two. Fancy getting your days muddled up and expecting Jorge a day early. He’s a lovely looking dog and I know it’s hard to tell from a picture but he looks as though he’ll have a nice temperament too.
I’m sorry to hear your knee has been playing up a bit Ann, and on your birthday too. Still, a cup of tea and a man to sing and dance for you was a good start to the day. Your T-shirt turned out really well and I love the colour.
Lovely picture of Chelsea, Mandy. She’ll break a few hearts when she is a bit older. Be prepared for her to grow up quickly when she changes schools. Our youngest granddaughter is just turned 13. When she changed schools at 11 she seemed to go from being a little girl to being a young lady overnight.
You seem to have been doing well with OH’s tree Gill. It’s such an addictive hobby. I haven’t looked t my trees for some while now but ought to go back and check on a few things as more information is becoming available all the time.
OH is feeling very pleased with himself as he walked to the corner of our Close and back tonight. It’s good progress but not quite as far as it sounds as there are only 2 bungalows between us and the corner. Still, it’s the first time he’s managed anything like that for a month so a big improvement.
Hope you all have a good night’s sleep tonight. Sweet dreams

Dos'nt Chelsea look all grown up in that lovely dress. Bless her a new start in life when she goes to the new school.
Its just about dark now but the sky is still light in the north but there are also dark grey clouds.
Hope Frank managed to get the bed sorted for tonight or he will be sleeping sitting up.
