Evening All.
Phew I am boiling.I have ironed a load of Chris's shirts. He was complaining all his favourites still in the wash.I have hardly done any ironing since Hannah went last weekend lol,and it has been WONDERFUL.Then just now I had the old usual tussle changing the bedding on the spare bed just in case our visitors decide to stay the night tomorrow.
Tonight we are having Plaice and Chips with cauliflower cheese, green beans and baby carrots.Hannah will be home this evening as she has her appointment with CAB tomorrow at 9,then straight on the train again.
(I won't tell her or Chris what sweet little slug I found in the cauli just now) !!!
I rescued it and put it in the garden. It was a tiny baby.

Evening all
Mandy arn't kids shoe expensive and their feet can keep growing every 4-6 weeks, scares daughter no 1 to bits. Sofia has had her feet measured twice fortunatly SIL mother has brought her first 2 little pairs of trainers from Italy but Sofia was not walking properly.
Now she's walking around more and occasionally outside, daughter keeps her in the buggy most of the time say's she hasn't got the time to mess about when she's shopping ,
OH and I like to let her walk on the reins.
She's now in size 4 boots, and may need to go again to get measured for trainers or shoes, I said I would buy them this time as daughter has just bought the boots.
It's really cold now. Waiting for daughter no 2 boyfriend to come in from work and then we will have tea.

It's you who spreads the slugs around is it Jane.??? If I find any in the garden they go to the chickens, likewise snails. Haven't got any around now. They must be hibinating.

How is dear old Norwich Mandy. Often think of the times I walked from the Station through town up Constution hill to Old Catton. Also the Samson and Hurcules dance hall. Spent many an hour in there !!!!! I remember when Ros and I bought Lewis his first shoes, and his first Football Boots, (still got them in the garage)

Our neighbours, the young ones are expecting a child. she three months gone. what a saying !!!! He was saying they don't know how they will manage with the cost of child minder, when she needs to go back to work. Like Bloo## fools we have offered our service. FOC of course. We have done it before with Lewis, so why not.,I am sure we are both capable. Well ROS is. !!

Ewwww Jane ,lets hope they don't find another one !!!

Yes your right Fiona childrens shoes are pricey, i could buy a pair for that price ,Katie is now pulling her self up and standing ,she takes one or two steps while she holding on ,if you hold her hands to try and get her to walk she sits down !!!!
They thought it was time she had a better pair of shoes now shes on her feet more, although they are only the very soft leather ones not the firmer ones ,she has a pair of soft trainers ,but i like to see little girls in proper shoes !!!

Frank, i don't think you would know Norwich now !! the old Samson and Hercules has been turned into Apartments and Caleys Chocolate Factory is now the new Chaplefields shopping mall .

Jane

Jane Report 22 Nov 2010 18:13

It was only a teeny weeny slug Frank .I looked like it was smiling at me just as I missed it with the veg knife!!
Heck Frank that is quite an offer. How old will baby be when Mum goes back to work??

Fiona,I could barely keep up with James feet when he was little.I am pretty sure it was a new pair every month. He now is a size 12/13 !!!!.It is easier now to get larger size shoes, but I know when he was at school I had awful problems getting shoes big enough .I ended up going to Cheltenham (where my sister lives) as there was a shop there I could get them.

Sheila ,I hope Jessica starts to eat.It must be worry ,as the little Baby will need good nutrition to grow.

I have never been to Norwich Mandy.Silly really as it is not too far away.At least you kept dry while spending all your pounds lol
The weather looks like it may not be too good on Sunday.I just hope we don't get snow that will stop us going to this wedding.I absolutely hate traveling if it is snowing, even though Chris will driving ,I will be a wreck lol

Evening All,

Another dull, dark day. The air never got chance to be blue.........I went out shopping instead and left OH cleaning the bathroom tiles and with errands to do. I went up the motorway to IK*A and then on to J28 on the M1 to a shopping park. It was beautifully decorated, all the trees with lights and a lovely carousel with the gallopers whirling around. The air might be blue tomorrow.......now we are doing the DIY stuff then! Still, it is promising as he has been and fetched all the tools we need

I love babies tiny shoes......they are so cute! I remember my sister having pink patent ones with an ankle strap. Mum said they had to have a strap as the first thing she would be doing was trying to pull them off ......and she did, even with straps!! lol Frank, that is a lot to take on.........I think I would pass out if OH volunteered me to look after someone's baby other than for an odd hour. lol

Shame about the kitty Jane. I hope the visit to CAB is helpful and that they have some suggestions. I have found them good in the past. I bet you DO tell about the slug!! lol .......after they have had dinner! lol

I must try and remember to watch some of those programmes. I have managed to record a few episodes of Pillars of the Earth, but not watched them yet.

20.30pm.

Hi All,

Not Donkey day today, we went to buy more paint for the study and paper for the walls as it's quite a cold room on the west side of the bungalow.

First we went back to the shop where we saw the bedroom funiture last Monday. It was half price last week but this week it had another 20% off, so guess what!! Yes we bought it and had ourselves on a special mattress thingy that makes it to fit you. OH was red and I was green so no swopping sides now when we get it. Mattress arrives on 10th Dec but suite comes on Friday!!

Poor little cat Jane, he must have used up his nine lives.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 22 Nov 2010 20:40

I enjoyed it Ann and so did Shirl as she has seen it too.

Jane don't tell Hannah about the slug as she's a veggy!!

On the way to Barnstaple I saw some pink blossom on bare branches. It reminded me of the Almond trees we used to have planted up the roads to school. We used to get the nuts when they fell and rub them along the walls on the way and when we had a good hole on the fat end it made a whistle when you blew across it. Did any of you lot do that I wonder????

Jane Report 22 Nov 2010 21:44

Mel you won't know yourselves with your new bedroom and 'New Mattress'
Sorry if I haven't caught up with everyone now,but Hannah has been telling us all about the new job,and the fun and capers of travelling on the tube early in the morning!!!.Her nose pressed against peoples armpits and other places.People getting shirty with others when they push in etc.Oh What fun (not) lol.The main thing she is enjoying the work.
I will be off shortly.I kept waking up last night and was reading my book at 4am .Then I could hear the 2 Cockerels from the bottom of next doors garden.....then snoring Norman in my ear.I think I gave up then ,so am feeling a tad tired now lol
Night Night ,sleep tight xx

Keep forgetting the time.....21.47

Well I never heard of doing that with almond nuts before Mel and Frank.......and we had a big almond tree in the back garden at the house I lived in from age 10-14 as well. I used it mainly to climb up to read a book and hide from my little sister. lol I remember the nuts and loved the velvety green covering on the shells. I can smell them now.

It is a lovely offer you have made Frank and with their parents not being handy it will be reassuring for them to know you will help if needed. It can't be easy being parents for the first time.

Mel, your bedroom furniture sounds like an absolute bargain!! I would be all excited waiting for it to arrive. We have a memory foam mattress which is much better than our old one, but it isn't individual like yours. I bought a handmade four poster when I split from first OH. It had lovely carved posts with twists all down them. I made a frilled pelmet and valance and duvet cover to match in a heavy material in a mainly plum and teal blue with gold threads fabric........took weeks to make it. They take a lot of keeping clean though and dust would settle all on the top of the canopy like it does under the bed!! Now I have something simple with drawers in. lol

Off to bed now.....night, night everyone xx

Morning Jane.
by you are both busy this morning.

Best of Luck Mel for your chest xray

Daughter' no 1 college friend is coming here this afternoon to wish daughter no 1 happy birthday , so they are all arriving about 1.30 , need to hoover up , Sofia always finds a crumb (the littlest crumb) on the carpet,

It was funny on Sunday when they were all here for dinner. nobody could find Sofia's dummy anywhere. and daughter no 1 shouts "SOFIA where have you put that dummy" the wee lass goes striaght behind one of the chairs and hands her mum the dummy, we were all helpless with laughter and surprise.

off to do a bit of housework

your find does Look like a lizard of sorts, not that sure I would have the guts to pick it up even if it is dead, gives me the willies to look at creepy crawlies, I rather have a lion or an elephant near to me than a mouse or rat . ( I do love butterflies, and it's only been in the last few years that I have been able to pick up a worm or catterpiller, had to be brave in front of the kids at work lol

Jane

Jane Report 23 Nov 2010 10:53

I Just had a look to see if I could find out what the lizard thing was .I have a feeling because of the orange spotted underside it might have been the endangered crested Newt!!!! I am not sure though.I would to know if any of you can help me out with this one.

10 53......must crack on.

Hope that the X-Ray went OK Mel, always a bit of a worry, but 9 timesout of 10 nothing to to be concerned about. Fingers crossed! Had a letter form neighbours Sols on Sat asking us for sight of the paperwork that our surveyor used when assessing our boundary!! It's such a cheek! they're are trying to rubbish our survey of course without offering one of their own, and yet they are the complainant!!! OH has finally lost patient with it, and our Sol has written back telling them that until they produce a survey of their own that contradicts ours, we're not prepared to discuss it with them anymore. End Of!! Also pointed out that the fence was in exactly the same position as it was when they bought the property. (have been accused of moving it!) No doubt we'll be threatened with immediate Court Action, (again!!) frankly, they'll just have to get on with it. Yes Frank, I could do with your help in the shape of 5/6 heavys!!!!
