Hi Sheila, i bet you had fun yesterday dressing up ,its good if it helps to get more people through the door parting with their money .
Enjoy your weekend , hope the wind drops a bit for you for travelling .

In keeping with my keep fit regime I walked into South Harrow to the bank today, must be more than 2 miles there and back. Glad I went this morning, it's pouring with rain again now.

No wonder M & * are so expensive, all that wasted postage. When is the wedding Jane. Don't suppose you will get the time but you could always pop in and see me, Stanmore is quite close.

You are all so good, getting on with Christmas cards and presents, at least I've made a start, have bought two presents so far, it will be one mad rush in a few weeks time and then hoping it will all come in time.

Alfie is a bit subdued since his weekend away, he hasn't chased Coco around so much but he does come galloping up to the computer when I switch it on now, he usually sits right in front of the screen so I can't see a thing, or he reaches out with his paw when those moving adverts come on the screen.

Hope you have a good weekend Frank, it's nice to spend time with family.

It is really dark now and is just starting to rain.Just as I am about to drive to Northampton with Hannah.I won't see her now for a fortnight.
How strange the house will feel with just the 2 of us and the dog lol.Do I hang the flags out???????.Yes I think so!

Have a nice time with your friends Sheila.

Right I better go .Her suitcase is now by the front door.

What a horrible journey that was.No so bad going to Northampton but coming back.It was dark and incredibly busy.I realise how bad a night driver I am .I used to be fine but I find it very hard with all the headlights on the oncoming traffic.I just have difficulty in seeing the blooming road.My shoulders are aching and my hands from concentrating and gripping the steering wheel.I have a headache too lol.Maybe a nice glass of wine will help me relax !!!!

Maureen. The wedding is on the 28th,but the ceremony starts at 4pmand goes on into the evening .So I think a visit to you sadly won't be on the cards.I would have loved to have seen little Alfie....and you of course lol

Been busy. Sorted a bit more stuff out the draws from the bedroom. OH has painted all the woodwork in the bedroom twice now as I told him to buy the paint that fries in 30 mins. WRONG it was so thin that you could see through the first coat. He has now painted the bit in the hall outside our bedroom and his study which is at the end of the hallway. Thats the next job.

Spent ages looking at light fittings as we need two new ones for the hall and another like we bought before for our bedroom.

Sheila have a good weekend in Wiltshire. Hope not too many people miss the shop not being open.

Frank you have a nice weekend too.

Hubby has been to Te*co and had his flu jab £10 this year, just asked him if he thinks he will be able to lift the kettle in the morning with his injected arm to make my cup of tea !!

Jane ,i'am not to keen on night driving , i don't mind going just into our town ,but i'am not so keen to drive into Norwich ,i think wearing glasses doesn't help ,i seem to get reflections from the lights ,i wish i could wear contact lenses ,i have tried them but they made my eyes really sore and that was by just trying to get them in !!!

I hope Hannah gets on ok with her new job ,so its Darby and Joan now lol
It was really strange when my son moved out ,i know he was only half a mile up the road ,but it seemed really strange with just the two of us and cooking for two as well ,i missed him so much and went all weepy !! daft old thing i was !!
I must go and get all the ingredients for my Christmas cakes tomorrow ,usually have them made by now , Sunday is not looking to good weather wise ,so if i've got the stuff i can maybe get them cooked .

I felt just the same driving back from Grantham in the dark last week Jane and Mandy. I was crawling along the winding roads thinking I was turning into a right old dodderer!! Headlights are more powerful and dazzle more nowa days and like you say Jane roads are so busy there is always a car coming towards you. I seem to only use dipped headlights which don't help you to see that far in front, especially the bends. I was quite shattered by the time I got home.

I hope they send the right trousers when they do come Jane!!!! I used to have the same problem speaking to S*Y and to OH's car insurance because he was the account holder. In the end he sent them letters giving his permission for them to speak to me. Even then they would still say they couldn't speak to me at first till I insisted they could.!!

Even though you will miss Hannah Jane......I bet it will be nice to have the bathroom more available........candlelight baths?? I hope she settles in to her new job quickly. I have just done a reference for a friend who has got a job with the NSPCC. I imagine that will be interesting.

Mandy, I want a sniff of your kitchen tomorrow when there are wafts of xmas cake in there. lol

Mel, I always have trouble buying white paint for wood......some are too thin, some are that thick the brush leaves streaks. Trouble is I keep all the tins and the next time I am none the wiser which to use.

Frank you are the perfect guest arriving with a meal!! Your son is very lucky.

Jane

Jane Report 12 Nov 2010 21:20

Ann I won't really miss Hannah. She won't miss me lol.It is just great she has a couple of weeks away from here ,before she has the dreaded commuting every day to London. She is lucky to be flat sitting for her friend for 2 weeks.I think she will realise how well of she is living at home!!!!
Chris is having to send his Jacket back to M&S as the trousers are now not available!!!!!!! ,but they were when he ordered them.I can't quite work that out.So he is not a happy bunny tonight .He has ordered another suit.....watch this space lol

Annx

Annx Report 12 Nov 2010 21:46

Yes it will be quite a change for her not having mum do things! I remember excitedly sitting in my own home after I was first married and then realising that no fairies would come in the night to wash, clean or put away.

Oh no! Well they have done well haven't they! Sending the trousers seperately, now there aren't any??? Whatever next....... Will they be able to send the WHOLE suit this time I wonder!

I'm just sending a pic of a 'man on a wire'. lol I saw him today and hadn't seen one doing this before.......you probably all have!! lol I couldn't do his job whatever the pay!!

Jane

Jane Report 12 Nov 2010 22:13

MillymollyAmanda Report 12 Nov 2010 22:33

I suppose its just repairs and a check up for the wires on the pylons Ann, what about doing that on a windy day !!!!
i'am off to bed now so will say night night xx

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 13 Nov 2010 08:49

Morning all,

quite bright here at the mo.

Jane what a stupid thing to do to send a jacket with no trousers!!! You would think they could have checked first before they sent the jacket!!

Have'nt seen the man on the wire yet as have been looking someone up for Shirl.

I don't really like driving in the dark either. As Mandy says when you wear glasses you have a reflection or some such thing. When you think about it you are looking through two lots of glass, your specs and the windscreen and they are usually coated with some kind of stuff. I even find I can see clearer in the dark without my specs on even if they are nice and clean!!

Morning all,

First. SHELIA I was not trying to make any comment !!! I was making an observation. I will make a point of never including/ mentioning anything to you or about you. That way you won't be able to miss understand what I said. You always seem to want to nit pick. Will you please point out WHERE I have Mentioned Rubert Bear before ????

Had a good journey up to Rutland. Sat around till dinner time. Everyone enjoyed the Shepherds pie, Cleared dish. Jan made a loverly Apple crumble for afters. Realy bright Sunny morning here, cold, but not so windy.

Mel, Ros tends to drive without glass's at night, she finds she can see better. She dosen't get the glare from other car lights.

Jane, Is Chris going down to M & # to sort them out today, they must have stock of his trousers in local stores. They should arrange hand delivery. and compensation for the trouble. Sorry hadn't read the bit, about the trousers.

Just going to have "BRUNCH" so have to get off the table.

See you later.

Frank Report 13 Nov 2010 12:58

Poor old Fiona, (in the nicest way) Hope you soon feel back to normal.

Mel, I often get myself Marmite on toast at lunchtime, it has that taste that you keep wanting more !!!

Before I left yesterday, I went to the chickens, and found another one "BROWN BREAD" Dead. I don't know if it's got anything to do with age ??? Also found 5 fish floating in the pond. Have put them in acarrier bag ready for the bin, Sunday evening ready for collection on Monday. My chickens run is all enclosed with bubble wrap so the rain can't get in. They get in there out of the wind and rain. They will be lying in the sun now, making a dust bath.

Just cleared away BRUNCH Eggs, bacon, sausages, Toms, Mushrooms, Toast and marmalade. Tea and coffee. That should see us through till tonight when we have our Indian. Will treat them to Lunch tomorrow at the "Hornblower" in Oakham.

Mandy are you off to the Coast this weekend.???
