I remember many years ago ,when the clocks changed we were expecting my Aunty Joyce and Uncle Ron for Lunch. They were coming from Bideford. They were very late and we all had awful thoughts that they might have had a crash.Anyway ,they eventually turned up looking all happy while my parents were in a right tizzy.Aunty Joyce had forgotten to change the clock the night before lol.

Hello all,

We have been off the internet nearly all day. It came back on about half an hour ago. It has taken me all that time to read the posts as I was so tired yesterday night after everyone had gone home and up to the caravan. We had a chinese last night. There were 6 of us and we throughly enjoyed it.

The service went off very nicely and the flowers were lovely. They were all little arrangements so are now on the church window sills with last weeks wedding flowers. There was loads of food left over from the little reception after the service and I sent loads home with SIL for her son and BIL to have for supper.
ind you there was enough there for lunch today as well.

Sheila sorry to hear about your daughter loosing her baby. How sad............. Do you think she may try again??

Ann thanks for the pics of the pussy cats. Love how you titled them.

Jane liked the joke veg. Sent it to OH. Ha ha ha!!

I did copy and paste it though so no emails pasted on.

Frank glad you got a better appointment for Ros. Fancy having to wait till January with a problem back!!!!!!!!

Hope I have covered everything I should have replied to.

Yes I did have a good nights sleep and a good drop of red!!! SIL and BIL left here about 10.35am this morning.

It's been a lovely day here today and I have two lots of washing on the line. clouded over now so think I shall go and do the chickens and get that over and done with and then I only have to shut them in later.

Jane Report 30 Oct 2010 17:23

Mel.I'm pleased it all went well for you yesterday. We were all thinking of you
Glad you liked the veggie joke lol

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 30 Oct 2010 17:39

It has just started to rain so I had to bring all the washing in.

My SIL left me a nice bottle of red so I think I may have that with dinner tonight. Have just got two nice chicken breasts out the freezer. Seems strange to cook for just two people but I think it is quicker.

Maureen Report 30 Oct 2010 18:13

You must be relieved it's over now Mel, glad it all went well.

Phew, changing duvet covers is better than any workout. I must have burnt up loads of calories, could have a box of chocolates now ...lol I quite fancy a chinese, pity you're too far away Mandy, I might have gate crashed.

Oh well, it's avocado and salad for me tonight,

David

David Report 30 Oct 2010 18:13

Amanda, Did you read the book King Rat?
Set in a POW camp.A US POW is treating the experience like a business.
He has fellow POW's catching rats alive in traps.
He kills them and skins them and cooks them.
Then sells the meat to British POW officers, who of course eat it.
George Segal played King Rat in the film version.

Frank

Frank Report 30 Oct 2010 20:53

My favourite programme is on, so went out to the kitchen and done all the veg for tomorrow. Pudding made and in the fridge. Just cheese sauce to make tomorrow.

Didn't fancy eating tonight, so had cheese on toast with cherry tomatoes under the grill.

I remember that film David, very good it was too. The other day they had the "GREAT ESCAPE" on with Steve McQueen. Lewis thought it was great. We have noticed if you leave him alone with the remote control. He loves to tune into American humour shows. I can't stand them. Don't know why he likes it.!!!!

Mel, Glad all went well yesterday. Enjoy that bottle of RED. I will be thinking of you. I haven't had a drink for over two weeks now. and I don't miss it. Will still have the odd pint or two when I go out, which isn't very often these days.

Did you get the Christmas Vidio.???? those who I haven't sent to, who would like it for young children, just say so, and I will forward it.
