Oh that peom thing was really great!!
Did'nt get a coat in Holsworthy so have to go to Barnstaple tomorrow. Blast....................thought I would'nt have to go to town.
We only buy a turkey crown now if we have turkey. It dos'nt last so long and it's only the white meat which everyone seems to like best. Probably have beef this year. We have'nt had a roast beef dinner for ages now. OH is off roasts.
Still sending the pics of the flowers but they take so long to load I seem to be sitting here forever.
I will get round to it so give me a bit of time please those of you who have'nt seen them yet.

Thanks MANDY !!! It isn't as bad as that thank goodness, We had a sandwhich at lunchtime, Warming it up with Roasts, and veg.tonight. There will be enough for a curry tomorrow. It weighed in at 6.4 kilos and has will have done 15 meals plus sandwhiches. Less than £18.00. You can imagine what a joint of beef would have cost.
Just had a break, to have dinner very nice it was too. I love the darker meat, the breast always seems a bit dry.!!!

Evening All,
Here is something Shirl asked me to put on the thread for her............can't help but titter can you......
The following questions were set in last year's GED examination These are genuine answers (from 16 year olds)............and they WILL breed.
Q. Name the four seasons A. Salt, pepper, mustard and vinegar
Q. Explain one of the processes by which water can be made safe to drink A. Flirtation makes water safe to drink because it removes large pollutants like grit, sand, dead sheep and canoeists
Q. How is dew formed A. The sun shines down on the leaves and makes them perspire
Q. What causes the tides in the oceans A. The tides are a fight between the earth and the moon. All water tends to flow towards the moon, because there is no water on the moon, and nature abhors a vacuum. I forget where the sun joins the fight
Q. What guarantees may a mortgage company insist on A. If you are buying a house they will insist that you are well endowed
Q. In a democratic society, how important are elections A. Very important. Sex can only happen when a male gets an election
Q. What are steroids A. Things for keeping carpets still on the stairs (Shoot yourself now , there is little hope)
Q.. What happens to your body as you age A. When you get old, so do your bowels and you get intercontinental
Q. What happens to a boy when he reaches puberty A. He says goodbye to his boyhood and looks forward to his adultery (So true)
Q. Name a major disease associated with cigarettes A. Premature death
Q. What is artificial insemination A. When the farmer does it to the bull instead of the cow
Q. How can you delay milk turning sour A. Keep it in the cow (Simple, but brilliant)
Q. How are the main 20 parts of the body categorised (e.g. The abdomen) A. The body is consisted into 3 parts - the brainium, the borax and the abdominal cavity. The brainium contains the brain, the borax contains the heart and lungs and the abdominal cavity contains the five bowels: A, E, I,O,U.. (wtf!)
Q. What is the fibula? A. A small lie
Q. What does 'varicose' mean? A. Nearby
Q. What is the most common form of birth control A. Most people prevent contraception by wearing a condominium (That would work)
Q. Give the meaning of the term 'Caesarean section' A. The caesarean section is a district in Rome
Q. What is a seizure? A. A Roman Emperor. (Julius Seizure, I came, I saw, I had a fit)
Q. What is a terminal illness A. When you are sick at the airport. (Irrefutable)
Q. Give an example of a fungus. What is a characteristic feature? A. Mushrooms. They always grow in damp places and they look like umbrellas
Q. Use the word 'judicious' in a sentence to show you understand its meaning A. Hands that judicious can be soft as your face. (OMG)
Q. What does the word 'benign' mean? A. Benign is what you will be after you be eight (brilliant)
Q. What is a turbine? A. Something an Arab or Shreik wears on his head

But Frank, just think if you get a whopper of a Turkey at Xmas you can look back at Mandy's song and you have your meals sorted for umpteen days lol I would love one year NOT to have turkey for Xmas dinner, and maybe have a beautiful huge joint of beef. But I know the rest of the family would not be happy with that.My son is very funny about Xmas.It has to be the same as it has always been since he was a baby.He said to me a little while ago ,he will always want to be at home for Xmas!!! Bless him lol.I have a feeling his girlfriend will be with us this year. That will be nice as she is a real sweetie and doesn't have a terribly happy home life. Did Lewis get a pumpkin?

Thankyou for your pics Ann, looks like beautiful countryside. I do like autumn colours but don't like to wear them. I'm a silver person not a gold when it comes to the colours of metal.
Kids, sometimes I wonder where they get there thoughts from. lol

I am a silver person too Fiona, I have always preferred silver jewellery in later years. I went to one of those things in a shop once where they tell you what colours you should wear to go with your complexion and hair. There were no browns, yellows or greens for me! Only as a splash of those colours they said.......lol Not that I always take any notice. I think Autumn colours look warm and cosy though.

I too am a silver person. The only bit of gold I wear is my wedding ring which belonged to my Nana which is now a hundred years old.Golly!!! I hadn't realised it was as old as that. She was born in 1890 and I think married somewhere around 1910/15.

Thank you Mandy....... OH gets a bit fidgety at times and I send him off ahead while I am snapping away to get one good one. He waves his arms about pointing at things and scares any wildlife away. When I look back at the old photos we took years ago, so many had tops of heads chopped off or feet missing or looked as if they were taken in fog.....and the best thing was you had to wait over a week to find out!!
Jane, Mandy, you have made me realise I have never worn brooches I have of my grandmother's. One I really like too, it is like marquetry in some kinds of stone (nothing valuable), a lily of the valley flower on a black background. I have decided........tomorrow I shall wear it on my jacket!
Off to bed now for a good night's sleep I hope......night night to you all xx

Ooops! Just spotted your post Jane. Glad you liked them. My camera is still the little one I had that fits easy in a pocket.......can't bring faraway things very close with it though. I don't think it was a really expensive one. Just looked it says Olympus X-820. I've had it about 4 years.
I'm off to the talk on 'servants' tomorrow........I shall be thinking Downton Abbey and white pinnies won't I.

Didn't I circulate that questions and answers, a few days ago. ????
Ros, has quite a bit of Gold, from her grandmother. She likes to wear it, but it's getting a bit thin and fragile. She has a gold charm bracelet. which she dosen't wear anymore, to heavy. Lewis is all tuck up in bed. He looks so angelic when asleep. But wait till tomorrow morning, back to his old ways. Thank goodness.
I assume I am talking to myself now, so will say goodnight.

I've been busy so I'm still here Frank. Shirl e-mailed it to me and we thought it would be good to post it. Did I miss it before? I'm in such a whirl I can't even remember what today is lately. lol Must be my AGE. It made me laugh, anyway. OH says I'm the only person he can tell his jokes to again because I always forget them.....see what I mean. I need a 'Lewis' to keep me young like you. lol
Fiona, it is a lunchtime talk that the Records office are doing. There is one more next week on Ag Labs......I have quite a few of those!!!!
Think I'd need a squirt of oil first Jane.
I'm off now.....

HELLO FROM SHEILA
I came on here late because I have been celebrating the fact both my daughters are having babies but on a gloomy side I have a rather large lump on my chest and have to have it checked out tomorrow so we were slightly dampened after our good news.
Mel asked me not to take anymore notice of what went on on this thread so Sheila comes on to say the flowers Jane were lovely Mel sent me the first photo and I have sent her a card this evening
But what do I find two nasty messages One from Andrew and a comment from Frank
Frank I have not been on this site today so why make the comment about Piers Sheila please put it to rest you have not forgot that remark I made to you so have to have a go at me. re PIERS I did not put all the abuse on the site he did you seem to want a scapegoat on here for any trouble that there is and you say you want a nice happy thread just look at yoursleves some of you crikey you break my heart
Sorry Mel did intend to be nice and who is this Andrew to tell me he complained about me done that all already about happenings I did not approve of yesterday .
I would not contact Catie again she complained to me she I thought was a very nice girl and said so. But had information she was connected with Piers but forgot it today until I came on here could not care less about the idiot. But some of you had issues with him hence your messages to the guy not mine. i stayed well away after I realised the bloke was nasty
Just leave me alone I paid to be on this Genes and was invited on your site your causing me a nervous breakdown with your comments pick on somebody else I am fed up of crying everytiome I read your venom
