ann of green gables,
thank you for your comment, i always dread when ssomeone is murdered and the papers scream about crazed people and front page headlines about it been a schizaphrenic i wonder how my son feels when he sees that, but when it is somebody else thas anotyer type of mental illness that kills the wording is so much softer and kinder towards that person, the papers should remember that the truly ill person has family that are in sometimes difficult positions not knowing what to do themselves. (T.G.) my son has always taken his meds.

A length of rope doesn't cost much.

I'd be happy to pay for it.

Hi John - I've calmed down a bit this morning!!! I think you might find some comfort on the Depression/Anxiety thread which is dealing weith most forms of mental illness - people have been so open on there are seemingly are gaining strength from it which is lovely. As regards Errol's input to this discussion, it is always good to receive some opposing views in this - it doesn't mean that Errol is not as disgusted as the rest of us over this little baby's death.

Theresa - I do hope that someone somewhere will look after your uncle's interests in the proper way - I know you are looking out for him in a compassionate and loving way, but the professionals have to play their part.

Hi gang, hope everyone else is OK this morning - Love Ann XX

I didn't read this thread earlier.
Having just read through all the posts I would like to say to Errol, who posted 'God does not protect, on the contrary He gives us freedom of choice!'
what freedom of choice did that little mite have, and those who are maimed, raped, killed by their own country people sometimes in countries worldwide?
I have know several social workers over the years, both socially and professionally and many of them have no idea of the trials and tribulations of the real world. Many have had a cushioned or privileged upbringing and like many judges, can't relate to the hardships of some people's lives.
Things won't be right until each different section of these social services, child protection, mental health centres, csa, everything, is linked together and information co ordinated and exchanged. There also need to be far fewer chiefs and lots more indians who know what the real world is all about, and the money saved on paying the chiefs can be used to help sufferers more.

Part of the problem seems to be that the social workers are not capable of thinking as individuals.........they can only work ' as programmed'.

Their 'training' tells them to fill in a form........no-one says that they should shout at the tops of their voices (metaphorically speaking) when they see a new-born babe covered in bruises.

They act like robots...totally devoid of feeling and stripped of all vestiges of common sense.
