Can anyone tell me if I can find any records of a STANLEY COUCHMAN who served in that War he was born in 1897 and was killed at the age tender age of 18....which would be around 1915...he was blown to bits so there was no body.. Any help would be much appreciated Jennie

I could not find him on cwgc, do you have any more info? could this be him Medal card of Couchman, Stanley Corps Regiment No Rank 20th London Regiment 634018 Private 3rd London Regiment 275101 Private Date 1914-1920 Catalogue reference WO 372/5 from the national archives Roy

Name: COUCHMAN, STANLEY Initials: S Nationality: United Kingdom Rank: Private Regiment: London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers) Unit Text: 1st/3rd Bn. Age: 19 Date of Death: 10/05/1917 Service No: 275101 Additional information: Son of James and Mary Ann Couchman, of 298, Ladbroke Grove, North Kensington, London. Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead Grave/Memorial Reference: Bay 9. Memorial: ARRAS MEMORIAL I found this one but he died in 1917. There is also a Stanley Couchman who died in 1915 aged 22.

Janet, it looks like the medal card i found is him? as the record Annie's found is the same service number and he is from Kensington. Roy

The Arras Memorial is in the Faubourg-d'Amiens Cemetery, which is in the Boulevard du General de Gaulle in the western part of the town of Arras. The cemetery is near the Citadel, approximately 2 kilometres due west of the railway station. debs

If you google the Common wealth grave commission site you will be able to print a cerificate which should have a picture of the monument. I am glad I could help. Its free.

on the CWGC site, find his name, click on that and it gives you casualty details, at the bottom there are 2 boxes search page and certificate click certificate and it will come up
