There is just no birth of an Owen or a Nathaniel or a Pearce or a John to match that Owen Pearce in the 1911 -- but as Vicci has found, there is a marriage.

I think I'd want to see that marriage certificate as well as the Bridget John birth certificate!

Christine

Christine Report 22 Sep 2009 23:17

I have a Bridget Louisa Pearce., Margaret Pearce sibbling, born 1882 died in 1887 in my tree.
I also have been told that Margaret Pearce was down as Margaret John Pearce, on some document.
This is getting very complicated.

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 22 Sep 2009 23:19

Connections then

Dead sisters name.
John in Margarets name on some things.

Starting to add up better!

You really need to send for that Brigdet John birth cert.
If not Owens marriage as well to see who he says his father is.

Christine ................ you have Owen Pearce 1903 in your tree .................

As I was saying about disclosing ALL THE INFO YOU HAVE .................

Oh, not to mention the business about Margaret JOHN Pearce I now see -- and where might that appear, if we may so boldly ask?

Vicci

Vicci Report 22 Sep 2009 23:22

???
Name: Owen Evans
Year of Registration: 1904
Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
District: Carmarthen
County: Carmarthenshire, Dyfed, Pembrokeshire
Volume: 11a
Page: 1259

FannyByGaslight Report 22 Sep 2009 23:24

There still isnt a birth for Owen in the right area in the right years under any of the names though.

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 22 Sep 2009 23:25

Do you actually have Margaret Pearce's birth certificate?

Margaret Pearce is in the 1881 census, so she is not this Margaret Pearce, whom I had been thinking of:

Births Dec 1881
PEARCE Margaret Carmarthen 11a 802

Births Sep 1879
John Margaret Narberth 11a 821
Births Dec 1879
John Margaret Catherine Narberth 11a 786
Births Mar 1880
JOHN Margaret Elizabeth Narberth 11a 819
Births Jun 1881
JOHN Margaret Anne Narberth 11a 909

but most likely of course:

Births Dec 1879
Pearce Margaret Narberth 11a 795

Yes, Viv -- but somehow **Christine knew about him**.

It would have made searching the 1911, for starters, a lot easier if we'd known that.

What do you know about him, Christine???

Margaret's child, or the child of another child of William and Elizabeth?

Christine

Christine Report 22 Sep 2009 23:31

Janey, I did tell you that Owen Pearce was my mothers sibbling, also Edith Selina.
Some one contacted me about my family tree, and told me that he had found Margaret 'Johns' Pearce. Where the Johns has come from , I do not know. Two sisters died in three months, Bridget and Jane, I found out that ther was an epidemic in Laugharne, and lots of children died at that time.

Added info- Contacted by a distant relative. He found out the baptism details . This is where it came from -Margaret Johns Pearce

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 22 Sep 2009 23:33

She did Janey...

Owen Pearce
and
Edith Selina Pearce are my mothers sibblings

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 22 Sep 2009 23:37

Christine ... you said that about Owen and Edith Selina *after* we'd been searching the 1911 census etc. and "found" them! It's pointless to "find" things that aren't lost.

Viv is spending her own money to look at 1911 search results. I went through the very tedious process of identifying the Elizabeth living with a Margaret and then the Margaret living with an Elizabeth, and then who's living with a Margaret and an Elizabeth, and which Margaret and Elizabeth they're living with ... kind of wasted time.

And again -- what do you know about Owen and his birth details??

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 22 Sep 2009 23:38

"Some one contacted me about my family tree, and told me that he had found Margaret 'Johns' Pearce."

Christine, I don't know what that means. "Found" her -- where??

Christine

Christine Report 22 Sep 2009 23:41

It is Rose I am interested in not her sibblings. Sorry if you were misled.

I did say a while back, that it looks as if I will never find out the truth about my mother. Not interested in the others. I have 395 names in my family tree, but just wanted to find out about my mother,

thanks for your hard work, sorry Viv for wasting your time.
Regards

Christine..
It will only be a waste of time if you dont send for the birth certificate of Bridget John to check it out and make sure it is not your mothers and that she changed her name at a later date,as often happened and is not illegal unless it is for fraudulent purposes.

And for £7 it wont break the bank too much.

And to find a person you often have to find the others around them too.

Christine

Christine Report 22 Sep 2009 23:50

Thank you Viv, I will do that , The Pearces always used the same names right the way down through the generations, She was the first Rose,
Make some sense I suppose.
Also interested in Frank Probert in Llanelli in 1911... not a million miles from Laugharne.
regards

JaneyCanuck Report 22 Sep 2009 23:55

Sorry, Christine, but you are snarking about something I didn't say.

You're not interested in the rest of the family. That's nice. I didn't suggest you should be.

But you are asking strangers to take an interest in your Rose, to help you find her.

When you want others to help find someone, you offer ALL the information you have about that person -- which very definitely includes the names of her siblings. The things YOU know that no one else does.

For pity's sake, if we had known she had siblings Edith and Owen we would have spent a lot less time and probably money finding the household in 1911, and finding this Bridget John who is someone I would certainly be very curious about.
