My Mum used to have a video of Carry on Matron which she used to put on every time the Grandkids went and the grandkids knew every single word in it and used to say them along with the video lol! Dx

personally i find the double entondre rather funny, i mean you can take it either way. so why is it that the slightest whiff of adult humour on here (bearing in mind this is an over 18's site) seems to be greeted with calls of offense and please remove from some people? Personally i am sick to death of being censored, i do not consider myself to be offensive in any way, i just have a sense of humour, some of which i would not display on here, simply because i know it could be taken the wrong way. so i censor myself, but i do take offense at being censored by others

I dont like Benny Hill (too daft), but i love Carry on stuff, full of inuendoes and so predictable, but so funny.

Bev, I was in the entertainment industry for over 20 years. was told that in comedy you could only please 75% of an audience at best. There are some who have had a particularly bad day, and others who relate badly to anything in your comedy. Minor example - crack a joke about anything, say piles ,and there will always be a couple of sufferers in the audience. Minorities can be very vociferous. happy days

now if i repeated the humour on the wards then i could understand people being offended but it is what gets us through the day, i would never repeat it on here, i am not that insensitive. but when you make inferences as in the carry on films, then i think you can not be held responsible for what is in peoples minds Bev

Hi Bev, Well talking of films and people being offended!! My step dad's mum visited me and Jamie for the day with mum & Jim on a sunday afternoon when telly was rubbish... So Jamie in all his brilliance put on 'Stigmata'....Well my step-dad's mum's face all the way through it was like thunder. She could not wait to leave after that, besides grumbling all the way through it saying it was a load of codswallop..... It wasn't until later I asked my mum what was wrong with her M I L that she told me her religion ......Sorry..She is a Jehovah's Witness... Susie xx

Carry on films haven't worn well in my opinion. Although Actors like Kenneth Williams, Hattie Jacques, Sid James and many others were great. I think (especially the later Carry Ons) were a waste of these talents. As for innuendo in the films very tame by todays standards, might have been risque back in the day. Think Benny Hill was AWFUL!!! Pat x

I am not offended by Carry on Films or a little mild 'innuendo', but I agree with Mike that some of the jokes I have seen on here have been too near the mark, and, in my opinion, these include the remarks that were made on the wrinkles thread. I'm sorry if that offends you Bev, but you asked, and it is MY opinion. The argument will be that I don't have to read the threads...but that thread started innocently and became offensive with the comments you made. I have not complained to anyone about it...but like I said, you asked for opinions and that is mine. This is a public forum and not a private corner in a pub with friends, when I would be the first to laugh at the joke. Dee x

I didn't see many of the later Carry On films. I think the ones I like best are Carry On Sergeant (1958) Carry On Nurse (1959) Carry On Constable (1959) Carry On Cleo (1964) Carry On Doctor (1967) Carry On up the Khyber (1968) Carry On Camping (1969) :-) Joy
