Agree we should be able to give country of birth as England, Scotland or Wales - UK just not specific enough. No provision for 'unknown' where we do not know country of birth - and Newfoundland isn't there - may be part of Canada now - but it wasn't when great great grandma Harriet Hiscock was born on Bell Island in 1818!! |

Thanks, Joy, Have read through all messages and found it very interesting. Like some other members, I am having trouble with second marriages in my tree - my grandfather's 2nd marriage was to his deceased brother's widow. I tried putting this into my GR tree, (original version), but I now have two Thomas Elis, and two Mary Janes ! so where I have gone wrong I do not know. (It was so easy on Family Tree Maker).
