Jan I've had that msn search page on carriage return for a while now. Very annoying!

Hi Genes Had a look and found it really great. Such an improvement and so easy to use. I have found a glitch, however. After searching under 'Locator: find people in this tree' once, the search box disappears. Hope this isn't too difficult a problem.

Louise and Jan, and anyone else getting the MSN search coming up. This is weird and I'm looking into it now. Can you tell me when it happens? What page are you on? Genes Support

Hi Genes Team It happens to me when I am replying to a message on the boards. When I'm typing the reply, if I hit the carriage return sharply the msn search comes up. If I hit carriage return sharply twice, the msn search comes up twice. If I hit carriage return gently, it doesn't come up. It's been happening to me for about 2 weeks now. Jeanette x

I have not read all the messages on here but a suggestion that the 'little tree' is put back at the side of rellies belonging to us instead of the word 'you' would be easier to see at a glance!! Thanks, Anne :)))

Hi Genes support team. I'm sorry, i don't want to be stroppy, but I'm now the 3rd person to ask this, so perhaps you could give us an answer? I have two sets of cousins in my tree who married each other, but this cannot be shown on GR. As someone else mentioned, we have been promised for a long time that this would be fixed 'soon'. Other sites manage it, so surely GR can do it too? Thanks, Sal PS Am I the only person who has had problems scrolling pages up on GR for the past few days??

That's worse than me then Joy, so far I only get it in a message on the first carriage return. GR - THIS IS SO ANNOYING Can we have an update please, even if you've not fixed it yet at least let us know what's happening. Thank you. Jan

Yes, I like some of the features and the layout. What I find a bit limiting is the keyhole effect that someone else mentioned earlier. Perhaps an option to zoom out would be possible? Also, finding people in this tree could be improved by having a browse feature, instead (or as well as) typing the name in. Even so, I like the layout and not having to switch back when entering or editing details. Michael

Could I just ask.............. people have mentioned the facility to add cousins marrying without adding them twice ............. would this also cover a woman marrying her late sisters husband and another marrying her late husbands brother, that was quite common when you get further back in the tree. Genes support team, When on a page of a thread and press return i get the MSN search page popping up. For example on the 4th page of this thread. Steve.

I just thought GR team, it would be everso helpful if you put the numbers of pages at the top and bottom of boards, save having to scroll up and down. Also if you check out the new names in the name summary and its a common name that has several pages, you cant seem to get back to the name summary after you have decided no connections.

Can i make a suggestion please? (ooh there goes the pop up blocker!) Can we have a list of members that are logged on at the bottom of the page, similar to the Channel 4 / Big Brother website? It shows who is logged on at any one time and how many guests there are looking at the page. This may solve problems such as the phantom nudger. Please let me know wot you all think to my possibly daft idea and feel free to shoot me down c x

STILL no answer to the query about marrying cousins I see?! Mandy, I have a similar problem to you-- I have a widower marrying his dead wife's sister - in fact, they are the parents of one of my sets of marrying cousins! I also have a father and son marrying a mother and daughter but that's another story... Can I second Totally Confused's request? That you can't go 'back' to the previous page after you have done certain jobs (like entering a message on the boards) is a big bugbear on this site. Also, I have asked this myself before and been told it would be dealt with in updates but never is - why on earth can't we have page numbers at the top and bottom of the boards, to save us constantly scrolling up and down? Surely it can't be that difficult? Sal

Dear Team, please could the ability to enter a middle name when doing a name search be reinstated? This would be invaluable when researching a name such as Jones!
