CB ;-) WOW its brilliant to see someone mentioning “The Nun’s chorus” from Casanova by Strauss it certainly does it for me. I searched for another copy of that record as we had it at home & it had gone astray somewhere, ours was the Joan Sutherland (I know later she became Dame Joan) copy its absolutely beautiful. Also Verdi’s “Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves” and Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” sublime. Besides classical music these are some that do it too. Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song” (Reggae) I. Kong’s “ The Way It Is” (Reggae) Marvin Gaye's 'Mercy Mercy Me' (Soul) The O’Jays’ “Ship Ahoy” (Soul) The Supremes “Someday We’ll Be Together” (Soul) CB have to disagree although Jimmy’s brother David Ruffin didn’t do so much as a solo Artist he was the main man (lead vocals) on most of the 1960’s Temptations tracks, and that’s the era that is seen as the high point of their careers and the temps as a group. I actually prefer late 1960’s - 1970’s line up with Dennis Edwards but still the later Temps had the lovely falsetto voice of Eddie Kendricks in there. Temptations happen to be my favourite soul group. Most people would hear David's voice as that on 'My Girl' which people seem to love very much. On the subject of footie one thing brings tears to my eyes when I see a packed Stadium of Liverpool and Celtic fans and they are all singing the same song that’s tremendous and although I don’t like that song that moment is absolutely wonderful the song “You’ll Never Walk Alone” what sport is all about. There are so many songs and tunes but i just love music so much :-))) it suits all moods pick a mood then pick a track there is always something to choose for the moment ;-) Pat x |

Funny Debbie one of mine would be Josh Grobam....You Raise Me Up and another would be The Dark Island....played on the bagpipes but my favourite goosebumpy song though is An Ubhal As Airde....Runrig (Gaelic Rock band) Christine Andy, used to love Rufus Wainwright singing Hallelujah, but got sick of hearing that song since they used it in Shrek, as the kids have watched it about a million times....does put you off! LOL |
