Morning all :) ~~~~~~~ to Hz and a (((hug))). She will be home in no time :) The first time is always difficult but it gets easier. I remember once I sent my youngest off to camp ( she was 14 I think), with her older brother and sister one holiday. My sister came visiting and asked where they were. I just looked at her blankly - I had no idea!!!!!!! But I got a lettter the next day - they were only at a camp 30 mins down the highway. Obviously not far away enough for me to worry about LOL. But my sister wasn't impressed.! Shazz, my work is voluntary work teaching ESL to Korean missionaries with an organisation called Youth With A Mission. Once a year, my department has a conference, usually in an Asian country, and I haven't been for a while. However, this year it is in Chiang Mai and my 'boss' is thinking of starting English classes there so I thought I'd better go and see what it was like and join the conference this time. But I'm a real 'feet on the ground' homebody, so this is a great adventure for me, especially as we couldn't afford for both John and myself to go. I am travelling with another Korean couple whom I have been teaching English to, so lets hope I've done a good job!! Daughter has an extra meeting scheduled today so I get to mind G-D twice this week *big smile* Catch up with you this arvo :) ~~~~~~~ to Tony and Barb Vonny

Morning all Poor Tony - glad it all worked out for him. I've always dreaded losing my luggage and for that reason I carry a change of undies, toiletries, medication and personal and travel documents in my hand luggage. I'll be interested to hear how he gets on with his travel claim! Sounds as if he is having a wonderful time. Heather - be brave. I know how you feel and I always imagine all the things that could go wrong! If you recall, last time Katherine went away she forgot her sleeping gear! Katherine will be old enough to get her learner's license next year so I'm telling myself I have to allow her more independence and the chance to learn from her mistakes as once she is independently mobile, I'll have a lot less say in where she goes and what she does! All we can hope is that we've taught them well and that they are wise enough to make sensible decisions. Methinks the BIG number may come up when the pussycat is having a cat nap! I wouldn't put it past the Rebs to be loitering either! Hubby wants me to go look at a new digital camera with him - one with a BIG picture on the back so we can see it!! Trifly - how is that new lap top going? My goodness - you are flash aren't you! Praise be to the fantastic plastic! Have a good day everyone Luv Anna

Just got a great card from the staff saying 'what a coincidence.....Wine improves with age.....(and on inside )......we improve with wine ...' lol Anna had to roll my eyes over K forgetting sleeping bag, you're right, they have to learn to cope with life by experience and we can't keep doing everything for them. She will have wonderful time. Have a great day all..~Hz~

Morning All, well this is my last Monday, hip hip hooray! Don't feel like doing much I must say. Anna, if you get a new camera, remember to still get one with a view finder, 'cause sometimes when the sun is out it's impossible to see the screen. Yes, poor Tony. There's nothing worse than losing your luggage when you're far from home. What Anna has suggested is always the best way to travel. Off to actually do some work. I know, you're all now PYSL. Oh Dr Lew - the shopper's friend and advisor - Thankyou for your comments re camera. Your advice has always been sound in the past so I will look for a camera with a view finder. I know a lot of the models with big screens don't have a view finder due to space constraints. He he he - you are really on your final countdown now - any big retirement parties planned? XX Anna

Good Morning Wattlers, First of all belated birthday greetings to you Heather, I was away on my birthday bash. Had a wonderful weekend, the dinner on Friday with all the family was good lots of fun, the Grandchildren popped those popper things and sprinkled me with the coloured paper. We were picked up at 12 noon ,drove to Sydney checked in hotel and then went down to the waterfront for a meal/wine,back to hotel to get rugged up for the football. Drove to Homebush the traffic was terrible, had a bit of a walk from parking station and then a huge walk around these walkways to reach our seats(noone thought of lifts )lol seats were excelent, great to be at a game even tho the Swans played terrible and those magpies won Ugh...... Got lost going back into the city, finally in bed midnight. Sunday morning daughter and I went off for our Bridge Climb What an experience, dident realize you had to wear so much gear. I was very nervous and the guy with us said go behind him, must be cause I was the oldest lol What a lovely clear day it was and could see the Blue Mts in one direction. The guide said from the time of leaving the building and returning we had climbed a total of 1,475steps, no wonder my legs are sore to day and I think I am fit lol Anyhow even tho very tired after the weekend it was a wonderful experience. Catch you all later Sandra in the Gong

Afternoon Wattlers Dr Lew, me thinks Kaz is a purring with us. Do you still have that shot gun ready. And I really can't see you doing any 'work'. Great to see Tony and Barb are enjoying themselves. I also travel with undies, toiletries and medications etc in my hand luggage. Last time I was in USA to see my daughter, I missed the flight home because of delays and cancelations of flights from Tampa in Florida to Los Angeles. One suitcase made the flight I missed and got home before me, the other suitcase ended up going to Melbourne a day later. Boy was I stressed out over that flight, but as least I did have clean undies!!! lol Glad you had an exciting birthday Sandra. Hz, if your daughter's room is like any other teenagers, you probably won't have enough time to clean it up before she comes home. At least she'll be home soon. Must go and see what is in the fridge for lunch, will probably have to go grocery shopping later - yuk Have a nice afternoon Pam
