You too Tom:) Marie I've not read the Koran - but I don't think it's fair to judge all Muslims on what it teaches. I'm christian and certainly wouldn't want to be judged on everything the Bible tells me to do lol. I can honestly say that none of the Muslims I know are plotting to overthrow the Church of England:)

The reasons the crusades were mounted was to stop the holy city of Jerusalem and specifically the temple being occupied by the Saracens(muslims) to say you are a Christian, the crusades were mounted by Christian Knights supported by the pope and one of the main supporters of the crusades (The Knights Templar) was St Bernard , who founded a Christian order of Benedictine monks, a case of Christians recognising at an early stage that if Christians didn't seek to limit the amibitions of Muslims Christianity would be lost. And now the same situation appears to be arising. Either Christians stand up and support their religion in the face of Muslim growth or the decline in the churches in England will continue and the rise of the Mosques will increase which will inevitably lead to a Muslim predominance in this country. I always thought there was a lot more invloved in the Christian kings sacking the Holy Land than religion:) But I think I'll leave this alone now as wars over which religion has more followers doesn't worry me - we all end up the same anyway:)
