Anne when I first saw your thread my first thought was - welcome to the club. Its really not funny for us 'just a smidgen overweight people' is it. I agree with Kaye - beauty is on the inside. Its how you treat and react to someone not what you look like. I've read all the threads and have come to the conclusion that you are not happy with yourself right now. It happens often to all of us I'm sure. You say you have no one to have an incentive. You do sweetie - yourself. My OH never said I was overweight or complained about my size even when I was over 15 st and I'm 5' 4'. Lost nearly 4st but one heck of a battle I yo yo up and down between 11st and 12 st and feel so much better for it for myself and health wise when I'm lighter. I'm going to encourage you. Come on you can do it. Pauline gave you the gist of Slimming World - I did it - it works. If you get stuck just give us a nudge and I'm sure you'll have advice and help in no time. Join Chuckle Bunnies weigh in thread (on Thursdays I think) and be encouraged by what others say and in no time at all you will have lost weight, if that's what you want to make you feel better. If not, remember from what I've read, you have lots of friends on GR and where would we be without friends. (((((hugs))))) Dorothy |

Dorothy Thank you for your comments and observations - which are I admit 'spot on' ....... I think it's a combination of 'i am not happy with myself' and ' i am not happy within myself' I don't love myself and I don't have anyone else to love - and I am approaching the first anniversary of my last fella dumping me - so I guess my self esteem is at rock bottom - and I have had nothing better to dwell on all weekend. Maybe when i am in a better frame of mind (whenever that may be) - i will embark on some kind of diet plan again - but just now I can't see the point of bothering. But i thank you for taking the trouble post :O) |

Just read your thread. Pilates is supposed to elongate people. When I last had to be measured (MOT at doctors I think) I discovered I had shrunk half an inch. Apparently this can happen as you get older. I went to Pilates classes for 4 years and before that Alexander Technique (which is similar - helps with posture). I am still half an inch shorter than I was, but maybe I'd be an inch shorter than I was if I hadn't gone to the classes! By the way, there is a body mass index measuring machine in the foyer of my Tesco's but there is a warning on it that people with pacemakers shouldn't use it. I haven't got one, but wonder how it works for them to have to put that warning on it and whether it is safe? Please keep us informed of your progress. I can't do my jeans up so think I'll join you in whatever you do! Janet :-) |

Just a quickie to catch up. Anne love that fella is not worthy of you. I've read lots of your threads and you sound like a little smasher to me. Come on cheer up with your friends and don't let the rotter win by showing that you are pining for him. Dorothy |
