Talking of teachers, the two most terrifying words in the world, and they were always written in red ink, were "See Me"!

Following on from Sharrons" Obviously,

at work we often had Face to face meetings, often doom and gloom, where the management would come out and try to explain why things had gone right, gone wrong and what would be needed to be done to correct this phenomenon............

The speaker would insert into his prologue the words Obviously..and clearly...obviously etc would be interjected into the speech. when to us rank and file listerners it was no where near obvious at all.........but obviously it WAS Blatantly obvious to the management........who were clearly directly responsible for the predicament in the first place

In a television programme this morning it was said that some lead stolen from a church roof was in a trailer, obviously under a blue tarpaulin.

As if you would put stolen lead under a green one! You would be a laughing stock around the scrapyards wouldn't you?

Oh dear.

I use "babe". It is very much a Pompey word to call somebody "My babes", like "Me Duck" and "Hen".

As you travel further west toward Southampton, "My Babes" becomes "My Lover".

A chap called me 'me duck' the other day. Loved it. A bit like 'pet' from up North.

I digress - 'see you later' or even worse, 'laters'

"When all's said and done..."

"Very unique". No, it's unique or it isn't.

"Less" instead of "Fewer"
