.......... what has happened to Ozzie 'cupcakes'???


Last night, I found something Helen had posted on a thread some months ago, and wanted to check with her, but she seems to have removed herself from the site ............

............. I cannot send a pm, although her posts are still on site, with all the associated information.

I think she has left GR, but....you may be confused with another member who seems to have taken her identity

I miss our Oz friend, she was a fab researcher

The post I found was from July last year ......... on one of the earlier threads re Brewer by George.

I thought Ozzie cupcakes had been posting within the last couple of months????

She still has her avatar up the same as the other Cupcakes...I thought it could be very confusing and also thought it was against GR rules....but I simply was not sure

Mersey you are quite right - if memory serves me correct you are not supposed to impersonate another person.
I wonder why anyone would want to do such a bizarre thing unless it was to do something that wasn't exactly "above board".
I am not referring to any one person in particular of course.

It could cause some confusion if she rejoins.
We will not know who we are talking to. :-S

I actually thought that it was now impossible to have the same Board name as anyone else??


I know people who have been told that they cannot have a name because it is in use ......................... when it was the name they had!

you can have the same board name if you set it as your real name.


It is very confusing and l agree with eRRolsheep very bizarre. To use the same name is one thing but to then use the same avatar is creepy. Makes me very wary of the poster's motives.

TootyFruity is quite right about names - and there are other ways of doing it too.

I agree about calling a person's motives into question if they use the same name and the same avatar as another although, again, I am of course not singling out any one person.

I find it pointless,pathetic and childish myself.

But what if it was done by accident?

Accidentally pick both the identical boardname out of millions of combinations of letters and identical avatar out of millions of images available on the internet.

I suppose it is a bit like monkeys, typewriters and Shakespeare really.

especially when you have been helped by earlier references to the similarity of name.

Well no I wasn't but as I have just come into the conversation and am also rather stupid I didn't pick up on anyone having a secret agenda. I certainly didn't expect a sarcastic comment from Errol.

Having the same board name is possibly just coincidence but to then change your avatar to that of another member of the same board name is premeditated and obviously done either to deceive or in order to court controversy

I don't think there is a secret agenda. People were commenting on a strange "coincidence" and I was commenting in general terms.
I certainly did not intend to come across as sarcastic but was interested and bemused by how something like that could happen "by accident".
