Aaw bless he has Williams (not) hair. I wish they had pulled his shawl down a twitchy bit. Lovely to see them so happy though and good not to see the doors any more

~Lynda~ Report 23 Jul 2013 19:39

I'd rather watch any parents leaving hospital with a new baby than I would any soap.

For those who don't like it, you can switch off you know, or you could turn over to a channel that isn't covering it.

Love it that Countries from all over the world are covering the event, most say they are jealous that Britain has got so much history. It'll be great for the economy too.

:-D

Lynda do not get me wrong I think the royal baby is absolutley fabulous news!!...I for one only wish I could be one of those women who could have a baby and show them off........ :-(

I was just saying 2 days looking at doors and the summising was abit overboard.....

History has been made and I for one wish them all well as a family.....

I won't miss Emmerdale for anything lol

Silly Sausage

Silly Sausage Report 23 Jul 2013 19:52

Ive enjoyed every min of it, its not everyday a future King is born, I am witnessing a piece of royal history even if Wills and Kate go on to have 10 more children they will never again be this much fuss and I doubt I will be around when the next heir to the throne is born .............I would rather sit naked on a roll of barbed wire that watch a soap , give me a royal birth or even event any day :-D :-D :-D :-D

I have had the telly off most of the time, but would like to see what else is happening in the UK.

There ARE other things going on because other news stories are running along the bottom of the screen, I see no reason as to why "they" can't take a few minutes away from the new Royal baby story & report on something else!

Reporters discussing with "experts" as to how Kate will be feeling tired, might be having problems breast feeding, that she needs to sleep when baby sleeps etc etc, Kate has all manner of folks around to attend to her every need, she does not have to cook meals for the rest of the family, or do a couple of loads of washing & ironing etc whilst the baby is yelling for his feed!

Joan.

Gee Report 23 Jul 2013 20:04

Me too Mersey

I am no royalist, but that doesn't mean I am not happy for the couple.

Just sick of it being wall to wall news...repeat, repeat, repeat

I didn't want to switch my tv over/off, I wanted to watch the scheduled programme, which I got thirty minutes later :-D

Edit: Indeed Joan!

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 23 Jul 2013 20:06

Yesterday morning, it was rather difficult to find a news channel which didn't have constant coverage of the front doors!

It wasn't as if it was a fast moving event..she'd been admitted in the early stages of labour. Break into the programmes and go live when there was something to report, but don't bore the rest of us ridge watching paint melt off the door.

Typical British Broadcasters over kill.

Well, it detracts (or does it) from the real world ;-)

ChrisofWessex Report 23 Jul 2013 20:18

OH and I laughed at our new Prince busily practising his Royal Wave. Bless him.

I sometimes wonder if these reporters have any common sense left at all but then the celebs leave 2-3 days after birth looking so unnatural - at least Kate looked as if she had recently given birth, tired, glowing and surplus skin in the tummy area!!

ChrisofWessex Report 23 Jul 2013 20:29

Dizzi - William is and always has been protective of his wife.
He will be the same with his son - he will not let the inner circle of Courtiers dictate to him.

They have done their duty - showed off their lovely baby and let the media back off and have some private life.
