We often used to get imprints of birds on our old patio windows - it seemed that the large expanse of glass was reflecting the feeders that were hung nearby, and the poor birds thought it was more food. We did find that one or two small birds did die, but the large ones like the wood pigeons would bounce, after scaring us with the noise it made! |

I often find a dusty imprint of a bird on my kitchen or dining room windows since we have had double glazing and have no nets on those windows. |

Yesterday a pigeon who has been eating too much of the bird seed that the tits drop from the feeder flew into the kitchen window, gave me such a fright, there was a loud thump and I went out expecting to see it laying on the ground. Poor thing sat in the honeysuckle underneath looking a bit dazed, he had a ring on his leg so presumably a racing pigeon. A few minutes rest and off he flew. For some reason the birds often fly into that window or the patio doors, silly things. Never found a dead one yet tho, so they must bounce. |
