	Ones that don't melt and drip everywhere :-( The birds like them and they cost a fortune to buy, I tried to make some last week, but they ended up a soggy mess. Anyone else make their own fat balls???

	I did make fat balls once, but I don't know if I still have the recipe. I shall have to dig deep in me drawers and will let you know if I find anything :-D whispers - poor girl can't even make fat balls. :-0

	I found a lot of stale cereal and such in the back of the cupboard and made the birds a great porridge during the cold weather we had not so long back. I added lard bought especially for the purpose and stale cooking oil etc and they absolutely loved it, made a big pot every day even buying cheap oats to use when the stale stuff ran out. Kitty, if you google, there should be lots of info on fat ball making, you can do it in old yogourt pots etc as moulds so you add a piece of string to hang them up with. Lizx

	Oh heck Wends in her drawers again................how kind Wend. :-D The poor birds got all lined up for the feast and one peck later...................splat !!! Poor things :-(

	Do you hang them in anything or just direct on a string? I put them in a sort of wire mesh cylinder. Still reasonable access, but it holds them together better and longer. Gwyn

	I'm saying nothin' about Wend digging deep in her drawers for fat balls. Ooops! my norty keyboard :-0 :-D I bought some fatballs in the Poond shop, they are in individual net bags but I put them in a metal mesh feeder and hung them in a sparse tree. Next day, feeder on ground, not a fat ball in site :-\| Crows or hungry neighbour? They didn't have a chance to drip :-0 I await Wends recipe too :-D

	ROFOL here, what are you like Kitty??? You ought to ask Shaun on the Welsh thread, he makes his own and l think he uses squash bottle or smaller.....puts holes in the bottle and then puts sticks right through so the birdies can sit and eat: ;-) ;-) :-) :-)
