i am getting better by the day.
my daughter is coping very well.
sil not so good ,i went to see her yesterday,her feet have gone black,she is going to see a vascular surgeon today it all look's bad for her ,i keep hoping for something positive to happen,
if that is not to be then i do hope thing's move along quickly for her.

Thinking of you SiL Sue that she is made comfortable and suffering no pain, and that somebody finds something that can be done for her. Glad you are doing OK anyway.

thank's ann it is so hard visiting her,not only is she my sil but this is the tough bit, we went through school together from the age of 5,so there is alot of memories that keep popping up in my head.

Apologies Jean Monmouth, I did not see your post until now.
When I am at home, I firstly take 5mg of Oromorph and a Cyclizine tablet which are 50 mg. After four hours, if the pain is not going, I take anothe 5mg of Oromorph. The Cyclizine last for eight hours.
If after that, the pain does not look like moving, I call the Paramedics, who should give me 10mg IV Morphine. But some are not trained, some don't like giving it, and some just want to be down right awkward. But, if I get the 10mg, that will take me to the hospital, where the first thing after obs. being taken,is I get another 10mg Morphine and 50mg Cyclizine.
On the wards they prefer to give you IM Morhpine, as they say they are not trained to do IV. I can't see this myself, because the lines are already in my arm, along with the line for fluids, and liquid Potassium. I may need a couple of more doses of IM Morphine during my stay, then work down to taking Oramorph every four hours. Then there is the heart department, but I'll not go into that one now. LOLOL

PS Jean, I have run in from the garden to post this bit. These are the dosages for mr, as prescribed by my GP for my home use, and the doctors at the hospital when i am an inpatient. Perhaps you OH should check with his GP.

Sue, I have only seen your post tonight for the first time. They say that troubles come in threes, let's hope that you have had all yours. I had kidney stones after my son was born ( He's in his forties now) I was rolling on the floor in the middle of the night,worse than labour!! The Dr. gave me a bottle of 'Mispots', it tasted like poison but it worked. They don't do it anymore(more's the pity).
Our local hospital is the James Paget, go there regularly,,,
I hope you are feeling a lot better now we have some sun even if it is still cold with that cold wind from the sea. Take care!

please dont worry,kidney stones are not serious,they are quite common,but as you say they are very painful,and constant pain is disheartening,feel happy that you have your health.so many people dont have a healthy future to look farward to.dont worry about the procedure its quick and effective.

well my sil died last night, she took a turn for the worst at tea time ,
she died at 9pm,i was with her and held her hand,it was very peaceful.


thank you to all who have given me support over these last few month's.

my daughter is back at work now,she has come to term's with the loss of her baby,

i continue to make good progress,OH has booked a week in greece for us at the begining of may,just what i need a total sun soaked & relaxing week.

Please accept my condolences Sue, you have lost both a sister in law and a long term friend, that must be very hard. But she is at rest now, no more pain, take comfort from that.

Good to have a warm break to look forward to now.

Sue, I am so sorry that your s.i.l. died, but glad she had a peaceful passing with you beside her, hard tho it must have been for you. You will have many memories to recall and I hope those happy times you spent together will comfort you and also the knowledge that s.i.l. is no longer in pain.

Your daughter is very brave to go back to work, it will help if she is kept busy but she may still have some sad times, I know you will be there to support her through them. Your s.i.l. will be caring for that little one so recently goneand I hope that is a comforting thought too.

How lovely that your hubby has booked a holiday for you, have a relaxing time and come back refreshed and ready to cope with anything else that comes along, altho I hope your luck has changed now and all will be good times ahead.

well sil funeral is on thursday the 12th april,out of all the thing's she had wrong her death cert say's it was the lung cancer and some other named thing which was to do with her blood circulation,apparently her blood had gone that thick that it was not able to go around her body.
i am dreading thursday.

Sue, I know it will be hard on Thursday - take lots of tissues and some Rescue Remedy might help, just so you can hold it together altho no one will expect you to be dry eyed or chirpy. I hope you will hear lots of lovely memories from others of your dear friend and s.i.l. that will raise a smile as you talk about her. She will have touched many lives and people will understand your sadness as they remember her in their own way, be glad you had her in your life for so long - she will always be with you in your heart. You know she was suffering and is now at peace and free from pain.

Sue, I hope all will go well on Thursday and that your sister in law's funeral gives her a good 'send off'. Although we dread funerals, often they can be uplifting and give a degree of closure. And, as Liz says, after the actual service is the time to reminisce with her other relatives and friends. She will live on in your memories.

well the funeral was yesterday,it went beautifully,everything went so smooth.
it is a chapter that has been placed in my memories and locked away,i thank you all for your support during this sad time,as long as i continue to make good progress and get the thumb's up from the surgeon on the 23rd april thing's should start to get better for my family,we have been through a challenging 8month's but i will stay positive in my thought's.

I am sorry to hear about your SIL it is a very sad time for you all.

HAD HOPED THIS YEAR WOULD BE A BETTER YEAR THAN LAST FOR MY FAMILY AND MYSELF..
but it is the worse year we have ever had and we have had some bad ones
My eldest son has lost a kidney through cancer and is still having treatment for cancer on his lung.;
My Son in Law lost half his tummy with cancer and is very weak but is coping.
I have cancer of the Kidney and a spot on the lung.
My daughter has a bad heart and is dibetic.
My Granddaughter is having problems with her tummy and is waiting for scan results. and two of her children have had operations one is 11 had a tummy operation and her son is having treatment for his water.
My younger son is having an eye operation to save his sight.
What a year and we are halfway throught it.

How many people I wonder have had a year like we have? The thing is how can some people get away with having nothing wrong yet the smoke and drink and eat things they should not while we have done the opposite.

well everything is going well,i saw the surgeon yesterday and i have been discharged from the hospital,i feel very well and i hope thing's will continue to improve on all front's.
my mum is now 95% back to full fitness,
we will bury my sil's ashes on friday morning ,
i go on holiday to greece for a week at the end of next week to complete my recovery,(well that is what i tell people),i know it will be about another year before thing's settle completely.

Enjoy your holiday Sue and make sure you relax as much as you can to help your recovery along well. Take the next months gently and be prepared to have good and bad days, it takes a lot out of you when there have been many problems and much sadness in a relatively short time. So glad your Mum is doing so well too. I am sure your dear s.i.l. will be your guardian angel and things will start to look up for you all soon
