I'm registered at that dentist now Mel and it happens to be right at the bottom of our road so I can walk there and it only takes a few minutes. Once this has cleared up I'm thinking of making an appointment to have all my teeth checked out. I did ask the dentist if I needed to go back regarding the abscess but she said no unless I have more problems with it. No I forgot to take the paracetamol so took two when I came home. Eating has really helped and now I'm feeling much better, my headache is easing to so that's good. Good job you mentioned the salt water as it reminded me the dentist told me to do that to.
I've been getting the error page as well Mel, it's been happening for a few days now and is really annoying.
I'll catch up with all the posts later when my headache has fully gone. I'm feeling really tired at the moment, so might have a sleep. The dentist froze my gum before she lanced it and it's starting to ache a bit now, so I've got a hot water bottle on it which is helping. I'm just hoping it doesn't flare up again and the antibiotics work, I'm not due another one until 9.30pm tonight.

Well done Gill, it will be sore for a while and will take the antibiotics a few days to work but make sure you take them at the correct intervals and complete the whole course, even if your gum feels better. At least with food inside you and maybe a short nap you will continue to improve.
Frank that was a good pay out. How on earth could they make that mistake, from you owing the amount to them actually owing it to you?

Very strange, I made another report to Eleanor re the error message and posted on here after I had done it (I thought) but no sign of it. Never mind I did it anyway. Not very warm here, very dull and cloudy, dry and OH mowed the lawn when we got back from town, hopefully it will warm up when the heating comes on.

Good news the skip next door has just been emptied, OH mentioned the broken post that happened when another skip was being changed, but the lad just said it wasn't them. Of course we know if was, but what can you do if they don't own up? OH is cutting the lawns now as it's getting really cloudy and he thinks it might rain later. There's no workmen today, but we think the kitchen fitters will be back around 5pm as they've started putting the kitchen in at that time and not going home until around 9pm. We think they are doing a foreigner which is why they arrive so late in the day. OH took a look through next door's window earlier and said he didn't like the dark wood floor or the almost black upright radiator, I must admit it's not my taste either. The new neighbours seem to like their dark colours as they have black windows and doors too.
I can only see this page as I keep getting the error message each time I try to go back a page, so I don't know why you're having your water off Jane. I hope it's nothing serious and it's back on and working okay now.
You were lucky those boys stopped when you beeped your horn Ann, like you said if it had been white boys it could quite of easily been a different story. At least the little girl wasn't being bumped into after that. I wonder if their mother heard your horn. I had a similar experience once when a young lad was shouting and screaming for some reason and his poor mother was trying her best to get him into the car, he must of been about 7 years old, so old enough to know right from wrong. They had parked right next to us and he was making such a racket that I gave him a stern look and mouthed to him to get in the car, luckily his mother didn't see me, but the lad got into the car and sat nice and quiet for his mum as they drove off, he looked sheepish to. I felt so sorry for the mum as her son clearly wasn't going to behave for her.
It sounds like your OH is almost there with the hen house Mel, I'd love to see a picture when he's finished it.
Be careful Frank putting the glass in your greenhouse, especially if there's no one there with you.
I can't see any of the posts apart from this page, sorry if I've missed anyone out, hopefully the error page will stop soon then I can see everyone's posts again.

Afternoon All
Well done Gill :-D :-D :-D.I am so glad you plucked up the courage to go to the Dentist. Now all the muck has been released from the abscess and you have the antibiotics it ill soon clear up. The relief must feel so good now even though you are still sore. You now need to get a proper check up done and go regularly.I don;t think ny of us enjoy a trip to the Dentist but it is well worth it to hang on to our own teeth as long as possible. I bet the scrambled eggs tasted good and at least you now have soem food in your tum :-D.As you know we have all been so concerned about you .We can now all relax :-D :-D The skip being emptied now must have made your day :-D
That sounds a very expensive thing for Simon Frank. Not that I know anything about gearboxes on a Narrowboat.Hopefully he will be able to have got the boat up and running by the time Easer comes.
I was worried reading that you were going to be fitting the glass in the Greenhouse with Ros not being there!!!!!. I had pictures of you slipping and cutting your jugular :-S
Mandy that is a pity the buyers have just pulled out for your friends bungalow. It seems like you are nearly there now with all the clearing out. Are the tools in good nick? If they are I bet they could be sold. Did you have the Dishwasher?
I have been back to Specsavers this morning and ordered 2 new pairs of glasses. They will be ready to collect on April 4th.I thought they were a good price £248 with varifocal lenses and one pair as sunglasses.
Ann,well done for tooting your horn at the boys :-D I bet the mother would have been very surprised to get back to the car and see them sitting quietly looking like lambs LOL Did you give a stern look too like a headmistress :-D(you may have said you did but your post is way down and I lost it). I sometimes give one of my looks if a child is having a bit of a paddy in the shopping trolley seat. That soon quietens them down :-D. I usually get a scowl back :-D
Chris and Fitz are going to the Coucil meeting at 6 to see if there is any updates or new info on all the developments and road closures. Our road is supposed to be closed of from sometime in April until August !!!!!!!!!!!. What a nightmare that is going ot be. We will have to do many extra miles just to get into town .There are no happy bunnies along our road at the moment. Well not the human kind.
Can't wait to see the Hen House Mel :-D
Hello David. That was nice to see you pop in this morning with the Cubs Promise. I am sure the Brownies one was the same. In fact I think the Guides and Scouts did the same. Was there a Dib Dib Dib saying too? I don't what made me think of that. I was in the Brownies but not Guides. The Guide leader was horrible . Mrs Burgess was her name .I think I only went once and once was enough for me :-D
It suddenly seems very quiet here. I can't hear any noise from all the works across the road and there seems not much sound either from the A14. It is so nice just to have a little peace for a while.I can actually hear the Woodpigeons cooing :-D

That was a good price for your glasses Jane, we have a Specsavers a few doors down from our opticians so we might take a look and compare prices, last time OH had a pair of glasses from our opticians he paid almost £200 just for one pair, so it looks like you've got a bargain.
Good job you questioned them Frank and didn't pay the money, pleased to see you got over £1000 back. Did you sort the greenhouse out in the end?
What a shame the buyers have pulled out Mandy, that must be so disappointing. Have you finished the sorting now?
We have a dead plant that needs throwing away so OH is thinking of putting it in the skip, it's an old Red Robin and only has one leaf left on it, so we're going to use the pot for something else. I'll probably use boiling water to clean the pot first and to sterilise it as we don't know what is killing our Red Robins yet and we don't want any other plant we put in the pot to die.
Our neighbour two doors down has got a fire in his back garden and boy does it smell in our bungalow now, we're having to keep all the windows and doors shut. I think the smell is coming through the air vents. I wouldn't mind but I changed the beds today and washed my hair when I had a bath this morning. I now feel it was a waste of time.
I didn't manage any sleep this afternoon AnnG so I think once I've had my antibiotic at 9.30pm I'll go straight to bed and have an early night, I've still got a bit of a headache but I think a good nights sleep will soon sort that out. I'm pretty good at taking tablets at the right time, but I'm sure OH and Sandra will remind me if I loose track of the time. The last thing I want is for it to flare up again.
Well, I was right the kitchen fitters are here again, at least they are turning up, unlike the other workmen, we've only seen them once or twice in the last two weeks. Hopefully the kitchen will be finished by the end of the week. I do feel sorry for the neighbours on the other side though as the drilling must be driving them mad every evening. I'm so glad we're not attached to them.

Well done Gill i knew you could do it :-D if you can go have the gum lanced your going to easily go for a check up as that's a doddle . No still got more sorting to do there's bits and pieces sill in the kitchen ,lots ad lots of books still to go on the next van trip ,all the boiler house to sort and the garage . Jane we've been through the tools and Colin had a few bits so did son but they all have to go to the daughters so she can sort through them all ,she is hiring one of those big containers and has it at a friends farm , i do feel for her as she has only recently lost her husband and she really thought these people were having the bungalow as they had had plans all drawn up ,and passed, so they could built a huge bit on the bungalow for their disabled daughter to live in .
No we didn't bother with the dishwasher in the end as when Colin looked at it it had a much bigger water in pipe than ours has and a fitting on the pipe to regulate the water flow .

Its good the skips been emptied Gill so you don't have the worry of things blowing out of that now. Did you also sign Sandra up for that dentist? It may be a good idea. You get a good nights sleep in Gill and you will feel much better in the morning.
I was never in the Brownies of the Guides and for that matter I was'nt in the Cubs or Scouts either. Ha ha ha. I would have much rather been in the cubs and scouts than the girls thing anyway. I was a right tomboy when young. I always wanted to do wood work and metal work but I did enjoy cooking. I went to an all girls school so would'nt have had a choice. I know when my son went to school in Headingham he did cookery and woodwork. My dad being a builder I did my woodwork at home with him.
Must rush now and shut the girls in. BBL

Good to see we have Vera joining us now. [just going to watch Vera on ITV 3]
Well done Gill so pleased to read you have plucked up courage to visit the dentist and she managed to reassure you and lanced your gum. Sorry to hear Michelle has been upsetting you again It's the last thing you want at the moment.
Jane saw the photos of all the digging being so close to your house and spoiling the view it's such a shame when this happens and now you are having your road closed . Naughty Thomas killing the robin I think it seems worse when it's a bird, we have a robin most days on the bird feeder.
Annx you are very clever making that jewellery it looks very pretty..
Frank I saw that you thought you were the eldest on here I beat you to it by 6 days :-) :-)

Good evening all
I just did a long post and before I could press submit it had disappeared :-|. I’ll have another go.
Thank you for the nice welcome.
That was a brave step you took Gill. Well done. Once the antibiotics take hold you will feel much better.
Jane, that was a good price for your glasses. I am wary of using Specsavers as my normal prescription is quite complex. They seem to have mixed reviews. I suppose it depends on how good the people are at the various local branches. I’ve just had new glasses too and have to have prescription sunglasses as well. I go to Boots and even with a 25% over 60s discount and a half price deal on the sunglasses I still had to pay nearly £750, though the bulk of that was for my lenses.
Mel, I live in the Sudbury area. We used to live in a little hamlet a few miles away but with no public transport or shop, having to drive to get anywhere and not getting any younger we decided to move nearer town about 5 years ago. I am glad we did as I had to give up driving at night a couple of years ago. I don’t know when you were last in Sudbury but there have been so many housing developments, some of them quite large, but no improvements to the infrastructure so the town centre is frequently clogged up with traffic.
Thank you for the potted biography Frank. I have been married to Bob for 56 years this month - I was a child bride of course :-D. We have a daughter and a son, both in their fifties, 5 grandchildren and 2 step grandsons. They range in age from 12 to 27.
Ann I laughed at you giving the children a stern look. My two still call that face “Mum’s We Are Not Amused look”, only nowadays it just makes them laugh.
I already know Gill, Jane and AnninGlos from other threads but I am looking forward to making friends with everyone else

Morning all
Cloudy here today but so far no rain. The lawns look lovely now OH has cut them and sorted out the edges. We have lots of birds around at the moment so that's nice to see. I had a better nights sleep last night and the antibiotics are doing their job so I feel much better today.
As we were leaving the dentist yesterday Mel I asked Sandra if she'd like me to register her but she said a firm no and walked out. She's actually worse than me and will just about let the dentist look in her mouth, but nothing else. So I thought it best to leave it for now with her seeing how much pain I've been in all week and talk to her about it again when it's not so fresh in her mind. Yes, it's much better now the skip has been emptied, OH put a couple of our plants in there as they had died and it now saves him a trip to the tip........cheeky or what lol.
What a shame the sale fell through Mandy. If the plans have been passed could they be used to encourage someone else to buy the property? It might be a good selling point as planning can take a while to go through. Even if the next people need to adjust the plans it shouldn't take as long as submitting fresh ones. Maybe it might be worth asking a solicitor or the council. Just a thought, but it can't do any harm to ask can it and it might help sell the property more quickly next time. So there's still a bit more left to do, it sounds like a lot of stuff has been or is being taken out if a container is needed. Shame about the dishwasher, but at least Colin had some tools so it wasn't all bad.
Yes, we often send pictures via email Vera, so if you want to sent us your email address we'd love to include you as well. Having said that I'm still trying to work out how to get my photo's onto my laptop, but when I finally work it out I'll be able to send some to you to if you'd like? I'm glad you and Ann and Gwyn have joined us all. I just wish the error page would go away, then it'd be perfect :-) :-)
I'm going to use the link you put on here Mel when I've sent this post and report the error page as it's getting silly now, it's been going on for most of the week and I can't get onto any other pages apart from the first and last one using the post date bit at the top of the page. Let's hope Genes does something about it soon then we can see everyone's posts. I feel quite rude if I don't say anything about someone's post, just because I couldn't see it.
I've just taken a look at your blog AnnG, what wonderful pictures of all those beautiful plants, I wish we had somewhere like that by us to visit, you're very lucky.

Morning All,
I might not be on the thread again today as OH's laptop is using 'my' socket while being repaired 'remotely' and it's more awkward to use mine elsewhere.
Welcome to Vera, it's nice to see a few new people. I too watched Vera Anne!
Well done for getting to a dentist Gill and I hope your tooth has started to be less painful after some antibiotics. I always think about how I will be walking out of the dentist soon when I am in the chair and it seems to help! It would be a good idea to sign Sandra up as well as Mel suggests, maybe hubby as well. Going regularly means some things get picked up and sorted before you get toothache. I was never taken to the dentist as a child but started going myself at age 15 and have gone regularly ever since. Like Mel I have bone loss and can't have teeth that they screw in. Strangely several dentists have commented that I don't seem to get any tartar on my teeth so I haven't been asked to see a hygienist for years.
Mandy it sounds like you have done a lot of work to clear the bungalow but there is more to be done. We found the house clearance man a blessing when we did FIL's house. He charged us £350 after deducting what he would get for selling the white goods and there were still 2 truck loads for the tip and a van full for the charity shop and for him to sell as well. That was after we had made trip after trip to charity shops and the tip ourselves. We said afterwards we should have let him do the lot instead of wear ourselves out. You still have to go through everything first though to see what needs to be kept and it isn't a pleasant task so I expect you will be glad when it's all done now. It's a shame the bungalow sale fell through.
Better get showered now ready for the beading get together. Will hopefully be back later to read the rest of the posts, if OH's laptop is repaired by then!

Good morning all. OH has gone to golf, should be less tiring today as they can use trolleys again now.
Glad you enjoyed the photos on the blog Gill. If anyone else has not got the address please do ask and I will PM it to you.
Gill maybe turn around what you said about Sandra, don't ignore the pain you have been in, remind her of it and point out that is what happens when you don't see a dentist before it takes hold.
Annx Hope OH's PC problem is not too serious and that you can get back on soon. Enjoy beading. We have photography group this afternoon. We have to take a tool of some sort as this month it is 'tools of the trade' and for a change we are taking photos in the hall where we meet under supervision of our 'leader'.

Yes, that might be a better approach to Sandra about he dentist AnnG. I've just tried to eat something that's a bit harder than eggs and yogurts so my tooth is a bit sore now, but I'm starting to feel much better now I'm eating more, so will live with the discomfort of the niggle in my tooth as the food is doing me good. The antibiotics are working and I'm no where near in as much pain now, so that's good I also don't feel hungry all the time either. What a good idea to take a tool to photograph with it being tools of the trade. Have a great time this afternoon.
OH is registered at the same dentist I registered at yesterday Ann. He had to go to the emergency dentist, which happened to be the one at the end of the road, when he had a broken tooth a few months ago, he told me it was all women there, which also helped me to pluck up the courage to go. When I rang the emergency dentist number I asked if I could go to that dentist. It was a male dentist who frightened me as a child so seeing a woman really helped and she was lovely. I don't even mind going back for a proper check up once I'm over this problem, although I'm still a bit nervous of what she may say needs doing, if anything. I'm sure Sandra will be registered there at some point, she just needs a bit of time, like me, to get her head around the idea. The last thing I want to do is mention it to much right now as that would frightened her and probably do more harm than good. She's a lot like me so I know how she feels, gentle persuasion is probably the best way to go with her, I think. Enjoy your beading, what are you making today? Hopefully you'll be back on here later when your OH's laptop is sorted, I hope it's nothing to serious and it's sorted soon.
