Afternoon All,

Thanks for that Mandy....I didn't spot it!
We have just been down the road to the retail park.....I had a card for a B*S offer, BOGOF turkey carvery lunch.....not bad. Think I might try Mel's lunch for my tea.....sounds nice and I love tomato with basil.......I often put it in tomato soup!

Mel, your place sounds just how ours was until this year, furniture shunted from place to place, stuff pushed up into the loft, into cardboard boxes etc. It feels GOOD though when you have sorted and chucked out and everywhere is freshly painted and spruced up. I still need to organise the new cupboards better. I'm good with my paperwork except the FH stuff which seems to mushroom all over the tops. My wardrobes and drawers need a going over badly as stuff is a bit crammed in.

Glad you feel better today Frank. A good rest helps. We had to fly out of bed half asleep this morning.......heard the window cleaner. lol OH said was I going to unlock the side gate and pay him! Ah-hem I said, you said you would take that on now you are retired. He pulled his joggers on over his PJs .....not seen him move that fast for a while!! lol

Edwardian Farm is very good isn't it. I'm really enjoying it......think OH has gone off smoked bacon a bit after seeing how they did it.

Tesco's have recalled all their 'Value' Bath Mats as they are not slip proof! went specally to take mine back, but left it on the kitchen table!! have to take it another time IF I can be bothered!!!

What is different with the thread ??? I have just come on and read the postings, as I usualy do. No trouble.

Mel, You are having a Ding Dong. with all your decoration, makes me feel tired, reading about it. We are lucky, when we changes out dinning room suite. Our young neighbours didn't have one, so they had that. Also set of waldrobes, when we got a new one.

Jane, I used to go fishing around Allwinkle. Out Thrapston/Oundle way isn't it ????

Had myself a brunch at 11.00am Bacon, eggs, toast and baked beans. Doing Rib eyed steaks tonight.
Have spent a lot of time looking at DVDs from the Mail about the war years. Have looked at 1940/41/42/43. Got 44 and 45 to see tomorrow.Quite intersting, if you like that sort of thing.
Got my friend to load all Geoffery Archers books, and another author, one who wrote the Submarine story. RED OCTOBER. with what I have already got on my E BOOK reader I have about FIVE YEARS reading. Still got room for more. I can also load music on it, and listen to that instead or while I am reading.

Reasonable mild here at the moment, but very cloudy, I think we will get rain later.

Hi Mel I am pleased you liked the doggie pictures I remembered you asked if I had one of Jasper.

Amanda I do not know if Beryl is getting married to Donnie ,I saw her for lunch and asked her not to say anything just eat her lunch
I will let you know .Last time we spoke about it she was not happy because I have booked to see Cinderella the ballet and take April.

i am so glad other people re-cycle christmas cards and its a great idea to make christmas tags.I once in the charity shop was looking through a pile of old Christmas cards and found inside one a cheque for 50 pounds in the card it said from Charlotte happy christmas Nana Wood. We held on to the card until someone called in the shop and showed some i.d but it was 6 weeks after christmas.

Fiona its nice the stores and people take the cards at christmas for charity
I keep the handmade ones I get because a lot of work goes into them.

Does anyone remember Lisle stockings a lady bought some stockings into the charity shop she had kept since 1939 they smelt of moth balls and also an old stone water bottle it was crock. I remember I had one put in my bed to warm it. We at the shop put a notice in the window asking for anything to do with the war years. Have not had many ,people have died or just do not keep stuff that long. One lady said instead of lollies when children they sucked carrots on sticks. This same lady remembered Empire Day when everyone had union jacks and marched waving them.
and balaclava helmets and pixie hats I had a pixie hat .
Fancy that little boy of four finding that treasure of gold with a metal detector I had one of those and all I ever picked up was a silver thimble very battered but was not worth anything. He found a locket of 1500 with christs crown of thorns on it and its worth 51million pounds.

Amanda I love your Toby he seems fine after his operation.

Sorry you did not get to see Calender girls Jane was it with Lynda Bellingham loved to see it. I saw the film. Well I am told Jedwood is in Im a celeb tonight by a lady who claims to be related so that should be interesting if she is right I shall moon over Nigel Havers cannot wait to see him in Panto with Joan in Dick Whittington. Sorry Joan I love you but wish I could meet Nigel and why did I dream of Orville he is in it also.

Oh No have I missed it, was it only free today?

Your computer must be the only one Frank, it doesn't give the time of posting either just says one hour ago. I thought of you when I saw that Newspaper advert of free DVD's on wartime. Are they good?

I went to Northampton Theatre a while ago to see Joseph, it's very nice there. Hope you enjoy Calendar Girl Jane. On of my birthdays presents is tickets for a show of my choice. Daughter listed about 30, now I can't decide which one.

Jane

Jane Report 18 Nov 2010 18:19

I'd love to find a bit of treasure.I did find a Clay Pipe.Does that count ??? lol
Will that little boy (or his family) get a reward.I hadn't heard about that news.

Sheila you said about carrots on sticks. When I was in Japan we came across a stall that was selling little FISH on sticks!!!!!.YUK.I have a photo of them somewhere.I will see if I can find it.

Mandy ,no it's too late to find anyone else to go with me to the Calendar Girls.Oh Well these things happen.'cant be helped.

I'm not sure I like this new set up on here, but I suppose we will get used to it.It all seems so very slow at the moment.

I must be the lucky one, nothing has changes YET. It seems silly that they need to alter it.

Ann, I have a Sony PRS 505. my frien had the latest 600. and didn't like it. so changes back to PRS 505. I've started reading "RED OCTOBER" 467 pages. The great thing about this is you can change the size of the print. So for me, its just fine.

Sorry about Chris not feeling well Jane, and you having to miss the show. Can you ring the Box office and explain, what's happened, you could get a Doctors note !!!!! to prove your not pulling a fast one, they then might give you a refund !!!!
