Grandchildren are just SO lovely, in that they love you unconditionally, and don't see you as saddo!!! I don't think they ever do,you just turn into a dear old soul who they always love and don't think of as a pain and a nuiscence!! mind you, they don't have to care for you or whatever, so perhaps it's easier!!! Your right, tis REAL cold tonight!! daughter on phone, better go!!!

That was interesting Fiona.......the things we say without knowing what they mean!

Liz, Millie is a sweetie, beautiful eyes. lol My gran used to make those rag rugs with an old sack and strips of material. She always had one in front of the fire on the lino. I can remember turning sheets when I was first married and my MIL used to turn collars. Grandad had those collars that were seperate........did they button on??

Frank, what a great idea making a wendy house. I bet their eyes were like saucers.

Shirl, what does rattled down mean......unpicked?? Mum used to do that with old jumpers and knit us new ones from the wool.

All my dolls had scarves I knitted. lol My sister was luckier......being 9 years younger, hers had proper knitted outfits I made for them. Whatever happened to those knitting patterns for dolls that I had. I would enjoy doing them now.

Sheila , i'am glad you had a nice weekend ,and found the white horse in the end , Did you have your picnic in the car ? you never sat outside in the wind did you ?

I had a dolls bed made from a shoe box ,mine had the lid with frills round and it was like a four poster bed !!

Its freezing out there now ,its all sparkly on the car roof ,and the stars are so bright tonight too.

My Mother had the concertina type ceiling decorations for years. When the season was over she would carefully take then down and fold fold them up and put put them back in their box.
She always used the same coloured glass tree ornaments every year

No I don't remember them Mandy. But I know what you are talking about.
I remember chucking great lumps of cotton wool on the Xmas Tree lol.Big Snowballs .Loads of tinsel !
Fitz's Christmas tree every year is fantastic. It is about 12 foot high and has about 5 sets of lights on .They still hang some decorations that their children made at school.I will get a photo this year of their tree and send it to you all.

Yes we did have the pic nic in the car Amanda . Then we attempted a walk but it was very windy and cold. It was a lovely week end Wiltshire is very pretty.
Property is very expensive I said to my ho can we come and live in Wiltshire he said he thought to get somewhere like I was looking at to live in would be impossible .
I used to make dolls beds out of shoe boxes also Amanda I would attempt to knit a blanket .I used to sew my hair ribbons along a piece of sheet and make a pretty bed cover.

Its is very cold here tonight Jasper would not go out and the other little dog would not leave the fire.

I see in Leicestershire a man was killed by a bull and the bull was shot. The couple were out for a walk.

Coventry celebrated the bombings during the war with sirens and prayers in the Catherdral today .

I had a all clear today from the doctors my sugar is down
and the letter said I was in good health then I opened a second letter and it said one day you may die so please
take out insurance and give your children something to pay for your funeral.

I am going to watch Im a celebrity get me out of here the lovely Nigel Havers someone told me Jedwood are coming into it that should be fun. I see they have a camp Sheila my ho said that will be disaster maybe !!! it means women in Aussie he did not know that. My ho really relaxed over the week end was a different person.

David i have some of those old glass baubles ,don't like to put them on the tree in case the granchildren touch them ,they are so pretty ,they have like a pushed in middle.

We use to put cotton wool on the tree and i remember getting a long piece of cotton and threading Monkey Nuts on ,this was then put round the tree ,after christmas they were hung outside on the trees for the birds to feast on .

Thank you Jane I have a fat fairy called Betty she is German shes been on our trees for years I keep meaning to get a better one she a bit of a comic peace.
I am not disgussing what Frank said anymore I would like to be accepted in a nice way so wish to forget it.

The pic nic was really fab but it was back to Beans and Sausage Pie tonight my daughter did the tea. Her ho s sister is arriving tomorrow from Tunisia shes just had a baby but the poor might was born with a lump on her head
it is unsightly according to his family. Her ho works at the
Tunisian embassy here and that is how he managed to come here.

The man in Leicestershire who was killed by the bull came from Glen Parva where I lived before I moved here. It is about 3 miles away. He was the same age as me too. They haven't released his name yet.......might be someone I knew. I wonder what breed the bull was. These powerful modern crosses seem less placid and more protective. Not sure they should be put where a public footpath runs through. I am very wary of cattle these days.

Did anyone else make matchbox furniture for their Doll's houses? I made sets of drawers, dressing table, all covered with paper and beads stuck on for knobs. Plant pots from toothpaste tube tops. Great fun and kept me occupied for hours. I think I still have 1 or 2 of the baubles with the pushed in side Mandy. I was at a garden centre earlier today. I must say the displays are nothing on what they have been previous years. I suppose they feel there is less cash around to be spent on them this year.

Jane

Jane Report 15 Nov 2010 20:55

I think it is just best that you Frank and you Sheila just ignore each other.Just accept you will never get on.C'est La Vie !!!
Hey Ho Tiddly Pom !!!
Ann I will never go in a field with any cattle .Even with them inside the field I always think they can jump over the fence if in a frenzy .I remember some years ago when the babies had been taken away from their Mums. All the mother cows escaped from the field and stampeded down our road ,even trampling some peoples gardens!!!!

Jane
