Catie been trying to send you a message but the computor is having a funny day .I think the lady who was going to marry a muslim had a lucky escape.

My son in law is muslim and my daughter had the same convertion thing shoved upon her from the family and that was why no way she wanted to live in Tunisia but she had known our SIL for a long time they met on holiday my daughter married in Tunisia and everyone knows it was very funny but for me an ordeal the relatives were well lets say different. Circumsization of male children is another factor also religion praying 5 times a day and I am sure it works for lots of people but you have to have to really want to me with someone and our dear SIL adopted all our British ways apart from our religion and he goes to the mosque Friday morning and thats it. If children come along male children are much more wanted than females
although in our case there is no problem but you have to know what your doing such a lot to go into .My daughter took years before she would marry her ho . Being a solicitor she looked at all the in and outs regarding divorce and everything. Her ho could not get a visa at first and it cost a fortune to get him here and he must find £1700 to stay no dole and luckily Mos got a job at the University teaching French part time and at a main car park at night 5pm untill 5am a long shift counting the money. Before then my daughter provided everything.

No parents envolved now but not for the want of trying believe me Tunisa changed a lot of the rules giving women more freedom. Most of my in laws children are married to cousons. So you see I think that lady did right to cancel her wedding. So many white women marry muslims and end up with all kinds of problems but a lot marry and are very happy we were lucky our muslim son in law is fantastic but my husband is luke warm about the marriage would rather his daughter married a white guy
he oftens walks in when my son in law is praying and he says he is barmy I am used to it but did go mad when he stuck his feet in the wash basin to cleanse them.

That sounds a very difficult situation Sheila. Something happened yesterday which made us all aghast. I received a phone call from the chap that Sophie was going to marry. I haven't a clue as to how he had my number to be honest. He called to ask if I knew any girls who might be interested in meeting him. I'm usually quite polite, but this time I didn't mince my words.
He said that as he was getting older now, it was important to find a wife and to have children. That Sophie didn't want to know and so why shouldn't he try to find someone else. Well, that was never love, was it. I've heard from a couple of friends and they have heard from him too.
Oh yes, he even sent a pic through for me to forward on, just in case I changed my mind. Couldn't believe it.

Mel.... Had a look at the site and thought it a lovely area to have a holiday. I'm sure you will have a great time.

Jane Report 18 Oct 2010 14:20

I think Sophie has a very lucky escape there Catie !!!!!!!!.He sounds desperate doesn't he???.I have to say that has made my skin crawl.

CatieI

CatieI Report 18 Oct 2010 15:03

'Desperate' is exactly the word I used Jane. The call upset me to be honest. Sophie genuinely loved him, but five minutes later he is looking for someone else. I'm just glad she called it all off.

As Sheila said, sometimes mixed marrages work, sometimes they don't and there's more issues to deal with. Marrying a Spaniard I came across problems as even Spain had different customs to here. There is also the worry, especially with Muslims, if the marriage broke down they would take the children and you might never see them again.

I spoke too soon. Didn't see Alfie fit yesterday and thought it was a one off but he did it again today and it lasted longer and he p**d at the same time. Luckily it was on the laminate flooring and not the carpet. I keep putting it off but I will have to take him to the vet. As Mel and Mandy said maybe it is an ear infection but I have a feeling it's all connected to his fall

Sheila

Sheila Report 18 Oct 2010 15:21

Catie dont be upset just ignore him and he will give up hopefully .I feel so sorry for Sophie but shes lucky to be wised about him before she married him. My son in laws friend is 23 and he made a pass at me. He said I could do with a cuddle off an old lady. I told him to go and cuddle his mother and he was not amused. The old annoyed me too maybe old but did not need him to tell me.

You have to understand there way where did he come from this romeo he sounds a right one. The fact he wants someone else already shows how nasty he is no remorse
I have met some real nasty guys friends of my son in laws and now he does not associate with them. I had one guy tried to get me to post a letter to a lady and would not tell me what was in it. I said post it yourself but he said no he wanted me to address the letter. Did not trust him there are some very nice ones Catie and other well
the less said the better. dont worry if he pesters phone the police.

Sheila Report 18 Oct 2010 15:46

Sorry Alfie is not well Maureen. He is such a cute little cat
and you worked so hard to keep him .I would be scared of taking him to the vet .I know we need them but when a animal is not well it worrying and then you get a huge bill.

i just bought Jasper £30 worth of tablets vitamins joint tablets coat improvement tablets and some others a set of six lots for a month and he looks better already he was looking really run down and limping I could not afford the vets fees now he is much happier but hates the cold and I have a job getting the little lump away from the fire.

Donnies party was a hoot he had a kissogram he sat like he was about to die he kept saying Beryl and she said Oh Donnie relax you idiot then he congered around the neighbours garden a group of twenty people I had disapeared next door to watch x factor and piers thingermee talking with Russell Watson I surfaced at 10am for the remainder of the night and came home early Sunday. Beryl bought Donnie a electric blanket for his bed
I said whats wrong with you and she just grunted.

Love Mary on x and poor Simon Mc Corkindale died he was dishy loved him in King Lear when I saw him at Stratford but we had to stand he was much younger then but sad to die he was only in his fifties and had cancer.

Mel I did have 3 day flat boat holiday from Bham to Evesham just four of us and it was fun loved the lock stops with the cafe and pubs and so pretty the scenary you go for it and enjoy hope mum is feeling better not read all the threads Im too cold its freezing here and ho grunted when I said I am putting the fire on. going to muffle myself up.

Maureen Report 18 Oct 2010 15:56

Just put the heating on, it's really cold here too, sitting at the computer doesn't help, perhaps I'll go and do some exercise ..... yes .......the cross trainer is up and running, well walking, but it feels more like jogging. Son, bless him, spent 10 hours yesterday working at his house and called in on his way home to assemble it. He said I was screwing the bolts the wrong way, I always thought .... right is tight, left is loose, apparently not, well at least he assembled it. Then he got on and had a go, on the maximum, little show off ...lol. I have kept it on 1 for now, boy it's hard work, could only manage about 3 minutes, and he thought it was hilarious because I kept going backwards.

Ann, have you still got your cross trainer, it's just when son put it together and tried it was too stiff and he said the bolts were too tight so he loosened them and it was fine, maybe that's the problem with yours.

Gosh I have had two people this morning to wash mum. then the district nurse came and went and then the doctor came this afternoon. He is going to give me some morphine for mum for the pain. Liquid stuff to use as and when needed. There is me saying she comes out with strange things and doc. walks in her bedroom and say hello and she replies hello doctor. He looked at me as much as to say, thought you said she was saying odd sorts of things. He asked her how much she was drinking and she could'nt relly answer that one.

That place we are going on holiday does look lovely dos'nt it. Watched the slide shows of the canal too on another firm of boat hirers on the same canal to see if their pics were any different.

Christmas cake almost done, smells great. Ros has just checked it and thinks another half hour should see it ready.

Have Fleeced the Passion flowers, and cut the back lawn. The front looks ok for now. see what it's like later in week. Blowing up a bit here and turning cold. down to about 2 degrees tonight. Heating on.

The Village is starting a Picture show in the village hall. This month they are showing Mamma Mia. £5.00 a ticket. and take your own cushion and popcorn !!!! if a success they will do it every month with different films. I have seen it and got the DVD. so won't bother, but I think Ros might take Lewis as he will be with us next week. He said last night don't forget the Cinema and Chinese when I am with you. How can I refuse him !!!!! little Bugg##

Catie, What a cheek that bloke has, you would think he would have the decency to go on a web sight and find someone, not ring a friend of the girl who has just gilted him !!!! But I won't say what I think.

Maureen do hope Alfie is allright. After all the love and attention you have given him. It would be ashame if anything was to happen to him !!!! Give him a cuddle from me.

evening all
all qiuet here now, went shopping today to look at new Computers in Cur**s, wow expensive, we are going up to PC Wo**d tomorrow to have alook but I think my old computer will have to do for another while yet , we have a £300 elec bill and its only 10 weeks to christmas so I think I will have to get my priorities straight. May there will be something in the January sales.

I bet your house smells great Frank I love the smell of Christmas cake cooking, I don't ususally do mine till the beginning of November. then leave it for a few weeks and mazipan it near the end of November then ice it at the beginning of December. while it's sitting it's all wrapped up in greaseproof and Foil.

Oh Maureen I hope Alfie will be ok, its awful when your pet is not well you feel useless.

We went to see dad today he wanted to go to the cinema, I asked him what he was going to see, but as usual didn't know what was on or where the cinema was,
The Day centre where he goes on a Tue & Thurs are asking the care home not to bring him anymore as all he does is try to escape , he has no concintration so cannot join in any of the games or quizes anymore.

Been freezing here all day with a lot of wind and rain. heating is on but still need to put a jumper on,

Jane

Jane Report 18 Oct 2010 17:56

Blooming internet has been down for quite a while ,but seems ok now.
Maureen,if Alfie is weeing when he has his turns it is likely to be fits.Be brave and see if there is anything that can be done to help.Says me with a big gulp !

Frank I gave up making my own Xmas Cakes some years ago after I burnt 2.Plus no-one is really that keen on them.I bet Ros's is brilliant.

Sheila, fancy Beryl giving Donnie an electric blanket for his birthday !!!!! lol
Chesters limp is coming back since I stopped his medicine(because of the trots).I suppose at least it shows that it did actually help.I'm a bit worried about starting it again now.But I will see how he goes.

Jane

Jane Report 18 Oct 2010 19:21

Fiona ,it is a shame the Day Centre feels they can't have your Dad any longer ,but I suppose they have to think of his safety if he was to escape plus maybe there are not enough staff to keep an eagle eye on him all the time.

We have no wind and rain here.I don't know what the forecast is other than they say it is going to get really cold for a few days. Our heating is chuntering away .I am hot and Chris and Hannah are cold lol.We must order some logs soon .Ready for when the 'real ' fire is lit.I love to see it going ,but hate the dust it brings.
Pasta ,green salad and garlic bread for dinner tonight .In about half an hour.

My sister has high BP ,and I get cross because I know she doesn't get it checked as she should do.But what can I do !!!!! She will think it is me ,her big sister bossing her around lolol.I have always had a low BP,but will get Chris to have a check (just out of curiosity).
I remember when I was a nurse and had to go round all the patients doing their BP's.Both my ears were blocked and I couldn't hear a thing lol.I got sent straight over to the ENT (ear nose and throat) people and I had both ears syringed. The relief was just bliss .It sounded like everyone was shouting lol

No Sheila .I think they do it in the arm at the surgery.I find it less painful in the BTM.I have a lot more padding in that area lol
I'd love to be a fly on the wall at Beryls Wedding.I could be a decoration on the tree at the door lol.I would see everything then.

Mandy ,this will be the first year ever that we aren't doing pressies for my sister and her family.Same with them and us.I have said it is getting silly now as the kids are all now in their 20's.So I said I will just buy something or give money for Amelia and Finn.

I have been a mucky pup tonight and have got pasta sauce all down the front of my top !!!!!!......It is usually Chris that does that.
