Annx Report 3 Sep 2010 22:22

I bet the little ones loved the zoo Mandy. I bet you are whacked....always a lot of walking at those places. Still an icecream keeps you going!

I bet the bath will really help Fiona. After a right old tramp over exmoor years ago (OH said it wasn't far!!) I really thought I'd done my poor old hips and back in..........a good old soak in the bath and next morning I couldn't believe how it had helped.

I am at the hairdressers early tomorrow and then OH wants me to come to Harrogate with him. I fancy the ride, but not taking his car in the centre of Harrogate and trying to park it in a multi storey car park!!!!! Mind you I could go to Harlow Carr as it was the middle of winter last time I went and it would be nice to see it in bloom AND I do know the way there now!! lol Hope deciding doesn't keep me awake tonight. Night night to you all xx

Just popped in to thank you all for you kind thoughts - which are very much appreciated.
Everything is 'upside-down' here. It is difficult to make sense of what has happened - such a shock for us all. My BIL is trying to be strong, but it's hard for him. The twins are finding it difficult too. I've been visiting baby Mark everyday and he's so lovely. I had thought he was 5 wks early - turns out he was 4. Mark has been in 'special care' since birth, but he's now ok. He's very slow to feed, but once that picks up, he will be allowed home. My BIL is taking a 6mth break from work and I'm going to help care for Mark too. Not that I have a clue about babies. If I get stuck, I will come and ask :)

A special thank you to Jane and the kindness she has shown me. Also for letting you know.
Jane.... I thought Fitz's message was beautifully written. I think once his family mystery has been resolved - he should write a book. I will certainly buy a copy :)

Thank you again for your support.

Catie xx

Morning All.
I have read all the posts from yesterday afternoon and evening as I only skipped through them last night.
Oh My Word BERYL !!!!!.What is she like. When is the big day???? Shirl you can always decorate a zimmer with flowers and ribbons lol
there is an Italian Market in town today so I shall be tripping off there in a moment.
Just got called out to the garden. There were 7 Buzzards high up ,the noise was amazing as they were all squawking.I have never seen anything like it.I tried to get some pictures ,but I think I only managed to get 4 of the birds in the frame as they were a bit spread out.

Catiel, I'm so pleased things are beginning to fall into place, and everyone is coping. I'm sure you will cope with the baby. as you say we are all here for any help you need.
We had our grandson Lewis every week for four days, when he was a baby. Both Mum and Dad had to work. Ros wouldn't let him go to child minder. It was like having our own child. All that goes on. I was at work, but enjoyed coming home and bathing and feeding him before his bedtime. Just as I did with my own 35 years before.

Going to treat the top of the conseratory with "Sadalin" this morning. Up and down steps. Will ache when I finish, It hasn't been done for years. Ros will hold steps.

Does any one remember the old song "Give me a nail and a hammer" and a picture to hang on the wall. give me a pair of step ladders, in case that I should fall. !!!!!

Morning all
Yes Annx that bath really did help, stil aching a little but not as much as expected. managed to do my basic exercises this morning as usual. so thats good.

Off to do the washing as it's another lovely day here to. OH out on his bike should be home around 12.30 then it's lunch and off to see dad at the care home where they are having a garden party this afternoon I, don't know what that will be like but I expect there will be some kind of entertainment and refreshments, it's only for a couple of hours .

Catiel- glad to read your message this morning, it's good you can join us.
I expect it will be up & down for baby Mark and his family for quite a long time yet , I really feel it for the twins and their dad, it will be a great loss without their mum(wife) and their normal routine will be totally gone.

I'm sure you will manage to help to look after Mark fine, once the initial feeling of aprehension that he is so tiny and dependant on you to look after him has passed , it is a wonderful feeling to hold and cuddle him and watch him respond to you.
I'm sure all the grannies my self included on here will pass on any help we can give, you only have to ask.

Well I'm away to get a coffee and get the washing on the line.

Opps sorry Frank just read your post, see Catiel you even have good advise from grandpa Frank too

Jane I wish I could go to that Italian market with you all those lovely smells and I expect there will be lots of lovely fresh produce & wine too.

Jane

Jane Report 4 Sep 2010 13:37

Fiona ,there were some scrumptious looking things, but it was all quite expensive.I just bought a mixture of different olives, some bread, and some things that look like big scotch eggs ,but they are made from risotto rice with breadcrumbs on the outside and inside they are filled with Mozzarella and Proscuito Ham.They just need heating for a few minutes.

I am glad your poor old back is feeling easier today

Nice of you to pop in Catie.I am sure you will be fine caring for little Mark,I bet you have lots of advice from all sorts of people,he will be very special to you.
Making sense out of what has happened will be impossible now,and for the twins must be unimaginable.Things will get better when you all have a routine.Do the girls go to Nursery/school?

Fitz is a brilliant story teller and he would make a great Author. But I can't see that happening somehow .
Must go and get lunch now .

Afternoon all,

Sunny day here and we've been busy drying out the Spa and putting it away for the winter .

Ann , yes the little ones loved all the animals and we did have an ice cream too, bu the only trouble was the wasps ,why do they put the bins beside the seats ,every seat had a bin beside it ,i know they don't want lots of rubbish blowing about but they could put the bins away from the seats !! moan over lol

We're off to the coast this evening ,going to Wells ,i hope the tide is in then there might be some little fishing boats coming in .

Off to do some more chores.

Any room in the back seat MANDY, I would love to join you. I keep promising myself, I will end my days by the sea. will have to wait and see what goes.

Finished for the day outside. Treated half the roof rails, and half the panels at the side. Will start on otherside tomorrow if I feel like it.

Another nice day, bit more cloud around, but pleasent to be outside.

DIL is coming down to pick up Ros to go to Milton Keynes. It's Ros's birthday on the 19th. So DIL wants to buy her, her present. Usually cloths. So I will be home alone AGAIN.

Annx Report 4 Sep 2010 14:34

Well, I came out of the hairdressers thinking I'd been shorn like the sheep and that was it.............ever since I can't get the 'It's Shaun the Sheep' song out of my head!! lol Baaaa!! It took 2 and a quarter hours to do so it was a good job I decided not go with OH. He would have been 'pacing' and looking at his watch and it would have been a rush.

The coast sounds a good idea Mandy, I've only stopped off and seen Wells once and the tide was out. It was incredible the distance the sea went out..........couldn't see it at all, just a vast horizon of sand......never seen anything like it.

After I got home, OH rang to say there had been a nasty accident between 2 cars at the bottom of our road and that he'd had to leave his car and go back for it later as the police had taped everywhere off. He said there was a very damaged car with an old lady in and they were fitting her with a neck brace. Apparently the other driver had cleared off down the next close and the police were heading down there with a police dog. I can't understand how people can just drive off!! Maybe no insurance/tax??
