Afternoon All
Sorry your not so well Frank , pleanty of rest & lots to drink, Water of course.

Hi Jane, Mel another nice day here too maybe a bit windy though.

Spent most of this morning going through some storage boxes containing old letters of my mums from her dad who was away in WW2 at the time , also some poems mum wrote to my 2 girls, and other memoriblia.
I would like to put them in display folders, Mel do you or anyone else know a webb sight or a shop I can go and buy some folders I expect they need to be acid free so the paper can be protected, I use acid free Polly pockets which I buy from W.H. Smi**s but am not sure If they sell folders acid free as well.

Frank

Frank Report 31 Aug 2010 13:35

Fioan, I have Punch pocket folders. I miss laid one lot, bought some more, then found the others, have 200 now. I don't know if they are acid free, but I have had stuff in them for 5 years or more, and are O,K. Theses were from Tesc#

Since the Imodio# and dry toast I haven't been to see my friend. Tried putting some bulbs in the garden, but keept feeling dizzy and sick, so have come in. Must go and get the tools in from the front garden.

Fiona

Fiona Report 31 Aug 2010 13:51

Thanks frank, I will have a look in Tesc# next time I'm shopping,
Frank take care not to overdo it, sometimes when you feel a little better you think every thing is ok but you don't realise how weak you actually are

Afternoon All,

Sunny here too and in a few minutes I'm off into the garden to help OH move the arbour in the corner.....we want to be able to get all around it to paint more easily. Trouble is it is in a low corner with step down so we need to move rocks and shave the soil down around to to the same level. There will be some huffing and harumphing I think as OH may be a bit impatient, but I shall be checking that it is level with the spirit level.....he can't argue with that!!! lol

Poor Frank.........I won't touch those seafood platters or any raw fish. Yuk, yuk. It's one of those things you have to SIT out and sips of water like Fiona says.

As a child, mum would fry bacon and have it with mash and runner beans coated in the bit of bacon fat in the pan......I loved it.

Better go now or HE will be looking for me........BBL

Fiona I Laminated my letter's 20 year's ago will keep for ever that way---
I have a DDay myself laterwith OG NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS-##

Jane last night was end of Pillar's--and see they made it to long------
could have been done in half the time.

Sheila were are you ????

Jane

Jane Report 31 Aug 2010 16:31

Hi Shirl .33 phew that is HOT!!.I think it has been quite hot here although not like you.About 20 21 .
Sheila I meant to say I hope your daughter enjoyed her birthday.Did you say she has an interview in London on Friday? That is the same day Hannah is going to spend the afternoon at the job she has been offered.

I never eat seafood, things like prawn, lobster, crab, mussel, oyster etc.I have tried scallops and have eaten 2 mussels lol.

Annx

Annx Report 31 Aug 2010 16:36

Is that DDay a donkey day Shirl? Don't think I could stand that heat you have been getting.

The arbour is moved at last!!!! What a fiddly job moving it about (very heavy.....I'd forgot!!) in such a confined space, but it is level enough now and room to get around the back of it. There are two great prongs of half inch steel rods that stick out of the ground near the fence, we don't know what they were for and can't dig them out.......too confined to use a saw.......OH said he was sitting on them at one point. lol I have grown things to hide them before. Seems a bit costly to hire a grinder just for that.

OH doing another Radio Leicester report tonight.............maybe I can find him a new career in broadcasting. lol, lol

Lovely sunny day, wouldn't you know, I've had ironing all day.

Hope you're feeling better Frank.

Jane would love to know more about the letter when you speak to Fitz..

Alfie is being his usual naughty self. He is still scratching after all that money I paid out, £20 for cream which was supposed to stop it and £27 for the antibiotics and the food the vet recommended at £11 a bag he won't even touch. Will send another photo. At the moment he is hanging off the sofa with one claw !!!!

Jane

Jane Report 31 Aug 2010 18:09

Maureen ,I don't think Fitz knows anymore about that letter. He is not like us lot and doesn't do family trees etc,but I will have a stern word with him and say WE WANT TO KNOW MORE lol.I have told him about Ancestry and Family search etc, which he didn't know about.
Can't wait to see more of Alfie, hopefully halfway up your curtains lol

Have been waiting all day for a delivery of wood from Wick** ,and nothing has arrived.I wonder how long they work.We could be last on the lorry I suppose.
My next door neighbour has put out the wrong bins for the morning. She put out recycling bins, but it is the normal bin,and has now gone and won't be back until I don't know when,so Norma (other neighbour) and I have taken the bins back in and put out the right one .
It is still really really warm outside. It's Luverly.

I woke up this morning with a song in my head
'When you get to the end of a Lollipop'.........was that a song??Where it came from lord knows lol
