I bought two singles - 'I can see clearly now' by Johnny Nash and 'Starman' by David Bowie.
My aunt gave me the Sgt Pepper LP - whch I swopped with my sister (probably for Sindy stuff) - and she's still got it!!!
I call that taking unfair advantage of a younger sister - she was going to throw the Sindy stuff anyway!

Well, in 1954 when I left school I bought a Champion record player!! on the never never, my uncle had to guarantor it for me......yes it was Mono, but it had the 78/lp/33/45 stylus
the first record I bought was...........dont larf.
A 12in 78. one side was tchaikovsky's piano concerto, and the other was Griegs......condensed versions......

sad, but young! LOL
Still cant stand pop stuff!

I remember that one Margaret! ( i was about 5 and went to a saturday morning disco lol ) Sixteen tons was one of my moms that i used to play Bernie lol.
Bob, i probably would recognise it but im not great on what there title is :)

Bought my first pair of tights in the same shop (american tan)...... not sure why the shop sold records and tights though. My Mum said tights would "never catch(!!) on..... what if you ladder one leg?"
