Under the Greenwood Tree has been despatched ... :-)

I'd like the Herries Chronicles televised.

Uggers Report 15 Sep 2008 17:13

The Tudors!?!!!? If excrement could be turned into a script and thrown at the telly The Tudors would be the result!!

How they take one of the most fascinating periods of history and turn it into such blatant pants is beyond me imagination mercifully.

Tedious indeed:)))

She had spots as well as freckles! I know all about freckles young man!! ))))

Course there's more - I know there's more - cos it's a serial!! I just meant that it was so tedious that I nearly fell to sleep, and it was only the thought of Brad Pitt later on that kept me awake through Tess )))))

But................if there aint anything on next week after Tess I might just not watch it! )))

It aint nearly as good as The Tudors any road!

Blither off Viv pmsl

Jac, did you realise that was only the first part of Tess and not the whle thing? :)) They are *freckles*. She's a country girl innit

Hellllooooo Jeanette - try the Mayor of Casterbridge, it's much clearer for want of a better word and very tragic.

Hi all - only just seen this thread so will give my twopennyworth!

I thought "Tess" last night was crap - the film was sooooooooooooo much better. It had better liven up otherwise I wont watch any more. Aint the girl got lots of spots?

Loved "Far from......." although Julie Christie was a bit "limp" for me but the blokes were excellent.

Love Hardy.

Under Milk Wood - a true masterpiece (but feel you have to "know" the accent to appreciate it fully)

Dont know about the other thread, didnt see it, but sounds like same old crap, over and over again.

Morning Uggers

I've only read one Thomas Hardy....Far from the Madding Crowd...and it bored the pants off me. I don't really get along with the classics. However, I did watch Tess last night cos I love dramatisations of the classics, and I quite enjoyed it.

*pops over to chat but bets the thread's been wooshed*
