I dont think Helen Stewart surname was Watt, there is a marriage on scotlands people for Helen Stewart Duncan to James Watt, 1888 Huntly in Aberdeenshire and it all ties in from the census.

Thank you Siobhan
I cant believe something different has been found for Helens marriage.!!!(fantastic news if it can be proven)

On Lilians birth certificate she was born in Chorlton Manchester on 16th October 1891, the father is down as William Watt a Newspaper Compositor, the Mother Helen Stewart Watt (formerly Watt) I never considered her having another maiden name.
You will never believe how pleased I am to receive this information.

Lilian never had a middle name, if she married before she never told her children, again this is an interesting thought.
She died in manchester in 1963 (dont have cert.)
I am so grateful to you for all this help, and will be grateful if you can find any more for me please.

A HUGE BIG THANKYOU TO YOU!!

7 years before her marriage to James Watt. (Notice she is in Huntly where she married.

The interesting this is, if on Lilian's birth cert if gives father as William Watt, then who is James? and why is Helen's maiden name on birth cert Watt when it was actually Duncan

right something not right now. The Helen Stewart Duncan who married James Watt, is still in Scotland in 1901 with James, so it can not be your Helen (mother or Lilian).

strange thing is, I can find no trace of Helen prior to 1901, the nearest match that keeps coming up is this Helen Stewart Duncan. Very Bizarre.

Val :~) from West Wirral Report 20 Dec 2007 21:55

Hi Siobhan
Yes it is all very bizarre!!!

I noticed on the info you show for 1891 there is someone in the family by name of Maggie!!
When Dad gave me the information he had (which is not a lot!!) by the name Helen (Stuart/Stewart) Watt ....Maggie ( could be a maiden name????) I know its not a surname but what a coincidence!!)

He never knew of any siblings for his Mother and if I read this right you have 2 sons of Helen ..James and William, before Lilian came on the scene!!

HELP!!! Whatever am I to do!!??????

This is getting more and more confusing!! it seems no-one in this family want to be found...I still cannot find anything about Lilians husband either!!

FRANTIC (pulls out hair!!)
