Hello again On the Church records theme. .. Most churches pass on their records for safekeeping to county archives - they don't have the resources to care for them as archivists do. You're most likely to find them at a County Records/Archives centre - often attached to a library. There's a major advantage to this. It may be architecturally interesting to visit lots of churches, but it's a lot faster if all the records are in one place! Also you may find that there are microfilm/fiche copies of parish registers from (at least) the area. cheers Christine

hiya sarah thanks for that,am going to look now, sorry wasnt here before to answer you,family history says all kids were named after there aunts and uncles,not sure what sams wifes name was but we believ maud to be the eldest born in 1901,dont know if there was any born before her ut if there was and this ada was one then it makes it we have 3 adas in one family ,somehow this dont sound right 2 is hard to believ but 3???,oh well you never know with my lot but im game to try any leads,thanks again,and am seriously thinking of tryin to make time to get to islington to see if i can find any records,

Just a thought Kim If any of the early Adas didn't survive, and Ada was the Mum's name, they may well have persisted in giving it until it "stuck". for example... In my family tree there's an Elizabeth TAYLOR, (oh yes there is! - and her father is Robert) who appears as born ca Feb 1851, in the 1851 census, but in all later censuses she's b c 1856-7. As her husband was about another 6 years younger, I don't think that the first time the name appears is the same person. The mum's first name was Elizabeth - I reckon my ancestor was a later child after a tragically early death. It doesn't make it less confusing, of course! cheers Christine

thanks christine been there too dun that both adas survived,well into 1950s so nope that not reason i got 2 of them lol,did think maybe another marridge but cant find sams first let alone second,although we did have a good go at it,any more ideas im willing to try
