Joan of Arc(hives)

Joan of Arc(hives) Report 19 Apr 2006 14:14

Ah well !! I am trying to find My Charles Joshua Hoyle on any census, he was born in 1872 (29 when he married in Dec 1901 in Thorparch, Yorkshire) he was a bachelor. I cannot find his birth for sure or him on any census anywhere. His occupation was a publican in 1901 but he was also a silk mill hand in 1903. Father's first name is blank on the marriage cert except 'deceased Hoyle!' If you have time to have a look to see if you can find him, that would be great . Thanks Joan

Hi Linda I'm confused!!! How do i link Ellen Mcguinness to her family by looking at the Census. Do i have to order the Marriage or Birth Cert??? There seems to be 2 Mcguinness families on the Census and are probably related but i do not know how to make the connection to Ellen Born 1909 or1910. Not sure which my Ellen is??? OMG my head is swimming!!! Not sure i am even making sense!!! Help????? Kay xxx Found a marriage though. Ellen Mcguinness m Danial McDonald june 1931 South shields. Not a complete waste of time eh kay xxx

Linda in the Midlands

Linda in the Midlands Report 19 Apr 2006 15:16

Hi Kay, if you order the marriage cert it will should hopefully give you Fathers name and occupation. From that you can start looking for their families on the census, last one is 1901 that way you will be able to find which families are yours. does that make sense? Linda x had a look at 1901 census McGuiness in south shields there are 2 head of household one calkled bernard other Thomas, so if Ellen's father on marriage cert is called Thoms you know which family are yours
