You are all absolutely wonderful, I had been thinking of puting a thread on here asking for thoughts as how I could look for him, when last night I stumbled across the 1930 US Census entry, which I have to say got me exited! A problem in tracking him down has been his forename, It has always been pronounced Lewis, as was his father, So that's what I'd been looking up, but on several things his father is documented as Louis. Louis' father is Lewis? Born in England, and his Grandfather Robert, from England, His G grandfather was from Ireland! I haven't spoken to Dad yet, I don't know really how to tackle this, I think I'll have to start with general enquiries! Thank you all so much, It will take me an age to absorb all the info you have given me. but I am so excited! Suex

I've just got of the phone to Dad, that was a bit difficult......He is shocked to think his Uncle chose to disappear, It was thought he might have signed up and died in the WW1, but the 1830 census dispells that one. It is one of those things, should I have left this alone???? or more to the point, should I have kept this newfound info to myself?? Having said that Dad is looking forward to seeing what documentation I eventually come up with. He is also in disbelief about what a wonderful bunch of helpful people you have been. Suex Just to confirm, Dad says he did leave England before he was born, Pre1919. and he did go to USA not Canada (don't know where I got that from!

Just thought I'd update you a bit on this one, I wrote to the man who has Louis Molloy on his Rootsweb tree, he was very interested to hear from me, as he had no idea of Louis ancestry, he had just sent for the social security details. He got that today, and has sent me a copy. Most definitely my Great Uncle! Thanks so much to you all, from me and my Dad, who just still can't believe what help can be given by total strangers. What a lovely bunch you all are. Suexx
