A tree on ancestry (millicent1106 ) has photos of Amelia Toomey. She only has John listed as a sibling- but it is the same family.

It's so sad- the Toomey children spent a lot of time in the workhouse this is George and his siblings in 1866:

This is very sad. I wonder why. I'm guessing that since they had both parents, it was because they were too poor to keep the kids.

As John Toomey senior was alive in 1867, aged 36 (per the workhouse record posted by Gritty at the bottom of page 1), and Eliza is a widow in 1871, I wonder if this could be his death??
