There could be something in this one thank you, Glitterbaby. Yesterday, I definitely saw those 'Bees', a step-family listed on another census with Therese but hadn't got enough to go on. I shall retrace.

Many thanks to everybody. :-)

You mentioned earlier in your post that you'd found a birth registration which couldn't be her because it was in Westminster.

But Soho is in Westminster.

Thank you for that 'find' Tenerife Sun re Census 1871, all the dates fit well.

Thank you, patchem. If the above is Therese and Amy I'm guessing they wouldn't be also on 1871 Census in a different place. I'm trying to understand the document, have you the time to explain our difficulty, please. I'm wondering what the words 'kidor' alongside the children's names mean. Sorry to be so ignorant. Nor worries if you are short on time but it's all been invaluable and the information I have been able to relay to family has been so warmly received.

Many thanks all. :-) S

Visitor is what I think you are referring to?
(It is stating their relationship to head of household)

Thanks patchem, I've taken a look, fancy transcribing it as such! It's all beginning to make a bit of sense to me now. The sweat is dripping off me!! I'm off to buy some files tomorrow for my new records.

I can see now that the 'Hatcher' children were just misspelled, maybe. :-)

Spent an enjoyable day looking through all these finds and it's all amazing, I don't think that I would have ever managed to do it all by myself. Many thanks to everybody who contributed, I'm very grateful.

Now I'm going to find William Fletcher's first wife, mother of Therese(a) and Amy.

This is a possible for Williams death

We know he was alive and in Bristol in 1881 and deceased by Theresa's marriage in 1889. It is the only William Fletcher death between 1871 and 1889 in Bristol. It would make him born 1831/32

Deaths Sep 1881 (>99%)
FLETCHER William 49 Bristol 6a 19

and a POSSIBLE death fro Mary Ann

Deaths Sep 1893 (>99%)
Fletcher Mary Ann 60 Bristol 6a 14
