I noticed that GR on my mobile does not allow me to go into the full site anymore (it keeps re-directing me back to the mobile home page)

Has anyone got any tips on how to resolve this?

I am having the same problem - have emailed and asked about the change on GR Facebook page on 30th Nov

I am not sure what the problem is but they are aware of it --- I think Tooty Fruity had a response to her email

Thanks Irene, so I am not alone. It must be something that they've changed that's caused it then. I wonder if they'll be able to solve the problem.

I wrote to support a few days ago and this was the response.

Dear Tooty

Thanks for your email

I can confirm that we do have a mobile site for hand held devices and you will be automatically transfered to this when you look at it from a mobile.

We will shortly be introducing changed where you have the option to look at the site from the main site or mobile site.

I hope this helps and please advise us if you need any further assistance.

I responded saying this didn't make sense as I had been able to access the full site prior to 30 November.

Hopefully they will get this fixed quickly

As you say it doesn't make sense. Not only was I able to look at the site through the Go to full site from the mobile page, I was also able to look at it originally by just googling.

Now I can't access GR at all from my mobile, it's annoying as it keeps redirecting me.

Just wondering, can you reply to messages from the mobile site?

I can only read messages -- see my account -- and search trees -- nothing else

It really does not make any sense - I have been posting on thread - reading my threads -- adding to my tree -- in fact everything from my Ipod for 18 months --- then cam the Mobile Site - but I just clicked to go to Full site and all was as normal --- on the 30th Nov - at 8.00am posted on threads ... at 10.00am -- the option to go to Full Site --- failed to work

As you say whatever you do -- you cannot go to anywhere on GR but the mobile site

It seems a backward move to me

It's definitely a backwards move.

I personally don't see the point of the mobile site and would prefer to just go to the full site.

Unfortunately, on your phone you will only see a mobile version of the genes site, it is not possible to see the full version.

Hello :)

Received a lovely email from GR apologising today and they said that they had informed their technical team. At least they know that's it's more than one person who is having this problem.

Will wait and see what happens.

Hi all
Up until 30th Nov I had always accessed the full site from my i phone by just googling. Then on that day I was redirected to the mobile site and found I couldn't get onto the boards.

I sent an e-mail to support and got a very prompt response simply saying that I would always be directed to the mobile site if I was using an i phone. Well I never had before!

I responded by saying that it appeared my e-mail had not been read in it's entirety because there was no acknowledgement of the problem with the link to the full site and I asked if they could give some sort of timescale for it being fixed. I haven't received a response to that..

WHAT IS THE POINT of a mobile site that doesn't work??????

Surely the tech team just need to fix the link to the full site-can't be that diificult..................
