.................................................................... I am looking for
Sarah Emma Greenhough born Pancras in 1863 and living in Bradford, Yorkshire in 1901. She will have at least one daughter, Martha Jane, born 1887 in Bowling, Bradford, West Yorkshire. Her husband is Alfred born about 1864.

I can't find this family on the 1901 Ancestry census but on the GR1901 census Sarah and Martha come up on the index.

I really don't fancy paying out £5 just to see this family when I have an Ancestry subscription and wondered if any of you super sleuths can find them on Ancestry for me.

Many thanks.

Thanks Whitenancy.

In 1891 Sarah's husband, Alfred, was staying with her mother and brother, also in Yorkshire.

Alice died in 1893. I have found a marriage for Martha Jane in 1910 and just wondered whether Alfred and Sarah had any more children.

Thank you both very much. I thought I was missing something somewhere. Perhaps, for some reason, they are not on the Ancestry 1901(:

Hi Reggie,

According to the 1891 census he was an engineer pattern maker who was staying with his wife's mother and sister...ref. RG.12/3536/88 Page 1.

Hi Jean

Just had a good look around, yes i saw them too on the GR 1901, so am thinking you'll be best to ask someone who has Find My Past to see if they can find them...sometimes you see something one one but not the other

I've just checked one of mine. According to GR there are 147 matches on the 1901 census. Well the names is fairly unusual & there are only 54 on Ancestry & that is without a DOB or POB!
