Hello to everyone, before I start please do not laugh. I am researching Jones/Evans in Dowlais.My father Willie Jones born March 7 1909 2, Market St Dowlais. son of Margaret and David Jones both born abt 1861. and married 1905. Both had been married previous, David to Elizabeth Jones either 1 or 2 Pant Road and Margaret to Owen Evans.
Margaret and Owen had 5 children Rachel/Harriet/Thomas/Margret Eleanor and Gladys. Owen Evans died in 1901 Pontypridd.
When married to David they also had a little girl born 1905 Annie Jones.both born Dowlais
David had a brother that emigrated to Chicago called Edward in 1880

I know that Davids father was called James (Woodman) and had died before 1905 and Margarets father was called Thomas Jones Foreman of coal washing machine at Steel Works, he had died before 1905. Help totally stumped. Vivien. :-(

My problem is finding their parents, I really do not know were to start, the only information I have is about both fathers who are named on their marriage certificate and that is all. Is the spelling 'Margret' significant and consistent?

Have you got the first marriage cert to Owen?

Added: there are a few possible marriages so the cert will be needed I think. Possible surnames are Davies and Edwards lol!!

I have a feeling it is Davies, though I haven't explored it properly yet !

Which one? The 1901 or 1851?

The 1901 matches your 1891 family - same street and harriet a teacher. Harriet's age seems to be a bit flexible however!
