Anthony Report 2 Aug 2010 20:17

to summarise so far:
violet lillian didcott (my ma) did die in 1999 and her name was duplicated as it looks as violet lilian baldock, one and the same person, she was born violet lilian light in 1917 to margaret light nee bone and charles henry light, who were indeed married june 1910,,,YEA!!!!!!!
but that doesnt explain why margaret bone is shown in the 1911 census as a live in servant

Anthony

Anthony Report 2 Aug 2010 20:19

exactly,,, this one

The one above is probably a different Margaret Bone.

This looks like the birth of the one who married Charles Light.

Births Sep 1892 (>99%)
Bone Margaret Hendon 3a 193

There was another born 1890 in Marylebone

jax Report 2 Aug 2010 20:34

If she was on a census with her husband in 1911 she would'nt be on another as a servant

You have been given her marriage, census and all births found from her marriage including your mother

jax

jax Report 2 Aug 2010 20:40

Margaret was married in 1910 she would NOT be listed as her maiden name in 1911.

Also you told us your mothers maiden name was bone

touch'e

nothing is impossible,,,, my mother is down as 'dying' twice 1x violet lilian didcott 1 x violet lilian baldock

and just maybe i said mother was bone as i thought that true at the time,,, perhaps all are not as 'clever' as you! stop point scoring and lets get on

Ginny, he was stuck on his Messages board, didn't know how to get back to Community. I gave him step-by-step instructions.

Have you understood this, Anthony?

Your mother was born Violet Lilian LIGHT, her parents were Margaret Bone and Charles Henry Light. You knew that all along?

You could have checked it here:

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/

The site is free to search and view, and a valuable resource.

You would have discovered that they married in 1910, so on the 1911 census would appear as a married couple.

They are the couple we have found on the 1911 census in Willesden. The Margaret Bone you found is London is a different person.

The mystery we all want to solve is how Violet Lilian Light became a Baldock - we can find no marriage (but if you know the details please tell us), but if you don't know you would need to buy the birth certificate of your elder sister - I think I have given you the details of that, but let me know if not.

If you think what we have found is correct (and we think it is), come back and say so, and we will try and help you move further back with your family.
