Hi Lou

Nothing obvious.

There are no Cornelius Baker records at all, but he may be there just with initials, do you have an occupation for hime, as that may narrow the search down..

Hi Julia, Yes I do .

His occupation was Engineer or Machinest. I think he came back to England in March or April of 1898 as his father was ill. His father died in the April Q so I would assume that Cornelius would have returned not long after his father died.

I think he might have returned alone as he had several children so wouldn't have been able to pay passage for them too.

Thanks again, Lou

Hi Lou

Thanks for that, really helped to narrow things down.

Unfortunately it also ruled out any possible matches!!

Hi Julia, never mind, thanks for giving up your time to research for me, it's much appreciated.

Can you tell me where you got the CD from and if it's possible to get one for around 1850- 1870 as I have another ancestor who worked in India for a time and I want to find out when he went and returned.

Thanks, LOu

Hell Julia.

I'm wondering if you can help me please.

My Grandfather Marie Louis Voinquel 1877 came from France, in about the late 1890's to Ireland.
He went back from England to France to fight in the 1914-18 war.

I know he lived in London from 1904, when he married Elsie Lucy Rothmund, who came from Germany I believe.

Both of my Grandparents lived together maybe in Ireland
before they married in 1904.

I've just seen from your Passenger List that there where very few European records, (this is what I have found) so I don't hold out much hope of their records being found.

Hopefully Elsa

Hi Julia, please if you can, can you look up Thomas Moore (born N Ireland 1857 or 8) arriving from Canada (Ottowa area) to either Liverpool or even going on to N Ireland 1878 to 1882. His wife Elizabeth Kennedy (also born NI c1857) either married or single (she was a nurse) may have been on the same vessel. Many thanks in advance for your help.

♥Julia♥ Report 26 Feb 2009 14:50

I cant see either of them (have searched Kennedy and Moore) coming in at that time.

There is this entry

Thomas Moore aged 36, birthyear abt 1857, arriving 30 Aug 1893 into Liverpool, England from Quebec, Canada
I think is occupation is a Farmer
He is Irish and he landed at Londonderry, so probably not yours

Hi Julia, Thanks again for the offer.

Could you please look up a William Henry Baker b 1857 in India returning to England around 1898.

He was the brother of Cornelius who you tried to find previously and he was in Pittsburg so William might also be returning from there. But to be honest he could be travelling from anywhere.

Sorry but that's all the info I have,

Thanks again, Lou
