Totally get your reasoning but can we prove it??

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 7 Oct 2008 12:33

Sorry my internet dropped out.... Just got it back up.

Give me about 30 mins and i'll carry on where i left off.

Well proving it we would need a death cert, and i think i found one when my net cr*pped out.... the age is slightly off i remember, but then thats going to happen if she died down there and they didn't truely know her age.

The house she is living in has upwards of 8 people living there, a whole family and then about 4 or 5 lodgers, so a BIG house... and wrongly transcribed to, the household goes over 2 pages but for some reason the transcriber has split it in 2?

There maybe a chance it is a relation.... maybe a sister of hers or a friend of a friend... again not looked into it too much when i got booted.

So give me a short while and like i say i'll dig a bit more for you.

I can't see the kids travelling to Britain only to be shipped back, that would have been a very expensive and timely excercise?

Are you certain the parents didn't follow as well?

I have american census's let me look for her in 1871....

Emma Report 7 Oct 2008 14:07

I have 1861 census for scotland with the kids staying with Aunty Mary Colvin Gibb but no adult parents with them. As I said it was a wealthy family & both children were students at home. I can't find Euphemia after her wedding which was in a Liverpool newspaper I searched using

I cannot find the children on any outbound record...yet.

Nor can i find them returning to America.
