Lisa J in California

Lisa J in California Report 4 Oct 2008 07:52

Sam, I've been looking (on and off) for more proof of my ties to an Ovens family in Ireland since I met them when I was about 10 years old. I am almost certain my Ovens ancestor was born in Corclune/Corcloon, County Fermanagh.

After checking out the site you recommended, I think I finally found my last bit of proof that we are related to them...I found the death of whom I believe to be my ancestor's grandmother or great aunt in Corkloon, County Fermanagh. There are too many other coincidences for the families not to be distantly related.

Thank you so much for posting the site.

Sam thank you again for posting this site
My husbands family were all known artists so his lot were quite easy to find. I have also found some good information on the town where I was born. They make a damn good read

Hi I have just pressed delete , instead of edit

Sam I had put the adr into my favs but when I clicked it today it gave me a blank page ,so rather than scream I found it by going to www.bl.uk/collections/newspapers.html.
this gives me 6 serials to search but says you have to access the newspapers from the Library
Please can you tell me how to get back to the newspapers

Got it. I had saved the search page you have to go back to the main page and put in the password again

Thanks for sharing that. I have found loads of stuff relating to my family as they were in the fairground business in the 1800's, even got a lovely "In Memoriam" in the Era newspaper.
Kind Regards
