I was in the police service for a short time before I joined the navy and the sight of the victims of drink drivers are etched in my memory forever. We had a good campaign here a couple of years ago..

''Four Pints, One Car, One mistake = 2 years'' on a poster with the picture of a cell door.

Thinking of you Col and of course little Paul

what people dont remember is that its all very well leaving the car at home and getting drunk then taking a cab home....what the idiots forget is they are still drunk eight hours later when they get in the car the next morning to go to work

Thank You from the bottom of my heart for adding to this thread this year.

Those of you who have suffered in similar circumstances and know the heartache that is caused I send ((((((Big Hugs )))))))) today, its something that never goes away and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

My own personal campaign has been going on for many years and something I feel so strongly about. Paul was more of a brother to me, having stayed with us on and off since he was a very young baby. He had a lovely singing voice for his age and had been out carol singing that night with his older brother. He was a 100 yards from coming home he never made it.

If Pauls death can save the life of one other person or save one other member of a family or friends from going through a lifetime of heartache and pain then I always feel there was a reason for this. His memory lives on.

Thank You Everyone

Colin

staffordshire colin is right, my sister was hit by a drink driver THE MORNING AFTER he had been out drinking, he had drunk so much he was still over the limit on his way to work at 8.30 am, thankfully my sister survived this but the memories are still there
