Visit your friend soon, she will let you know when she is tired during your visit, as others say, you don't have to talk all the time, just be there with her. I am sure if she is in the hospice especially they will make sure she is comfortable and as pain free as possible. It will be a difficult visit but a rewarding one for you both, I am sure.

Thanks all. I've just spoken with her husband and will be visiting tomorrow afternoon. It will only be for about 15 minutes, but I just want her to know I'm there and that I love her and am thinking of her. AL

Thanks for all the messages. I'm dreading tomorrow and what will probably be my saying goodbye to Lynn forever. I have been warned about how bad she looks - only her family have seen her for a few months, as she was having weekly chemo and was too zapped to see visitors. Most of the time she was too weak to talk on the 'phone. I know I can't break down in front of her and that I must try to be strong in front of her husband, who is doing so well. Just hope I have the strength to be brave - I must have. Lynn and her husband have been so strong and brave throughout this terrible ordeal and still are. Why does this always happen to the good, nice people. Things are so unfair. AL

I know what you are going through. Watched my Uncle die from liver and lung cancer, a slow and painful end. You always wonder if there was more you could have done and what you would have done differently. He died a year ago and I still miss him so much. please try and focus on the good times and keep those memories special.

Take care,

Jackie

AL, wishing you the strength to visit your friend and give her a gentle hug and talk with her awhile, and hide your distress. Inside she is the same Lynn you had a laugh with and cried with, and did mad things with, so try and remember those times and not that you are saying goodbye.

Well, I made it through today and didn't break down until I'd left Lynn. I was devastated. I have never known someone change so much in such a short time. She can't even move herself on her own. I can't help thinking it's only a matter of days. Please pray for her and her wonderful husband who is doing a fantastic job of looking after her. AL

Still thinking of her and her family and friends. I have great admiration for her dear husband, who will undoubtedly do his utmost to assure she is comfortable. We can only pray for a peaceful release for her.

Pray for all concerned.

Just an update - not a good one. Lynn's husband rang this afternoon to say, she's taken a turn for the worse and her fight is almost over. I pray for her and all her family and hope her passing is peaceful. She's a wonderful lady, who I will miss greatly. I feel honoured to call her a friend. Love you Lynn. AL
