I am going to give my opinion, i don't have to read the threads but i like to, this is a lifeline to me and many others due to disability, but i have had several emails from some of the people i have made friends with over the last year, and they are all disappearing, due to the fact of the ridiculous childish threads, Silly one liners just to chat to a couple of people, We used to have nice interesting threads, there have been some lovely ones, Mary May by Bridget, Lindy in the Algarve, Len from the chilterns, fred, bullying threads, advice and lots of others. We used to have a poem thread, and a music thread where they were just added to. We gave comfort to people in their times of need, and happiness and we have the jokes to make us laugh, and i'm not a stick in the mud i can chat on various subjects and have fun. but what is truly interesting about gobbledegook??? so please think everyone yes have fun but do we really need 20 one liner threads about music for example why not add it to one thread?? and i'm not picking on any one particular person or thread , and i mean no offense to anyone. sandra ps i mean older as in users not age lol |

Winter Drawers Ever Near | Report | 3 Dec 2004 09:47 |
Sandra a new member me. I'm not going away. Some people don't realise what other people's circumstances are. I thankfully have my health and am not confined to home. Would be nice if some people took a step back and just considered others. |

I must admit it feels odd on the boards now as there are very little discussions happening.... just silliness... which is fine for those who it makes smile but it does tend to knock the serious threads off the front page!! |

Sandra, I know what you mean. Yesterday there were 260 new threads on this board alone. Who has time to read all that lot? Crista |

Sandra the boards have changed so much in recent months, not as interesting as they used to be and unfortunately I can't see them changing back again. It is such a pity all the lovely people who no longer take part on the boards, they are missed. Christine |

I don't think it's anything to do with age. I don't consider myself old, but finding the boards very tedious at the moment - didn't bother coming on at all yesterday. |

True Paul, I don't think I'm Old at 43 but it just seems to be 'the same old same old' these days, just another variation of it. BORING! Christine |

Merry Christmas to all your family to, Paul we all seem to be of the same mind, you have done some great threads in the past, if we all put our thinking caps on i'm sure we can come up with some good ones, Crista it will never be the same as all things change, but it doesn't mean that we can't try to turn it back around sharing with our knowledge even if only one other person is interested in the same subject lol sandra |

Crista There were only so many new threads yesterday, as people were adding more & more silly one liner threads including ones like EG; (im not quoting) goodbye>>> Im nearly gone>>> im now getting into bed>>> and other really stupid threads. also there were at one point forteen blank threads posted. Pushing others down the pile. Most days the general board goes pretty slow, and threads stay for ages at a time. As i said, i like a laugh & joke, but enough is enough. Elaine x |

Bendy, i don't remember knocking anyones interlect, and i'm not moaning it is an opinion which i wanted to bring others attention to. So perhaps i could ask you to as i have others to see if we can all come up with a topical conversational thread, i have added one on ancestors christmas, which may prove interesting and i found you car one interesting by the way have a good day sandra |

personally i dont think the threads are any worse now than they have ever been iv been around for about 18 months now and a paid up member for about 10 months and for all that time the same stuff has been said over and over again bout people leaving and about the threads being rubish etc life dont alter :-) |

Sandra I agree with all the comments here the best way to deal with it is for people to do as you said get their thinking caps on and add some interesting threads, it is a shame there aren't many of these type of threads anymore but the way to deal with it is stay and try and change it back to the way it was before, let's try and do this before more people leave, please. I thought that the idea of 'message boards' is so that you can choose which thread you want to get involved with!...free choice!...Maybe you should look at some of the 'chat rooms' then decide if the boards is for you. btw...anyone can add a thread...silly or otherwise. |

As a youngish member (22yo) I would just like to say that I've never put on a silly thread. I have to admit it does get annoying when pointless threads are put up but then it's each to their own and as long as no harm is done then it should be tolerated! Love becx |

Gerri i respect your reply, and should say welcome as you have only been here a couple of weeks, i have been using all the boards for over a year with exception to the chat board as its not as easy as msn. Bec i haven't pointed the finger at anyone, but alot have agreed there have been some silly threads of the same thing. Today is just great everyone is pulling together with some great topics and there are some good conversations going on which is what i for one have missed along with others, so with some jokes and fun we have a beautiful balance for all.and i look forward to seeing some mor of yours bec sandra XX |
