One which made me cry when I was young, and still can bring a lump to my throat was 'Mandy' with Mandy Miller, Phyllis Calvert and I think Terence Morgan. It was about a little deaf girl - old black and white film needless to say. Also I have this endearing memory of my son sitting watching a film at his Nan's house when he was about 4 or 5, and when we glanced at him he was silently sobbing.... the film? Lassie come Home. We tease him about it to this day !!

Guost - Patrick Swazey Brother Bear (Walt Disney) Annabella - (Walt Disney) Horse Whisperer Born Free Living Free Watership Down Green Mile Homeward Bound Bambi ...... we're just a soppy family. We watched 'Guost' on Channel 5 last night ... even my 10 year old lad was tearful - until his 18 yr old sister poked fun at him.

the original version of Johnny Belinda wth Jane Wyman , when she signed 'I love you' to her father and he said - 'Daughter, this is the first time you have said that' I dissolve. Big Fish is another emotional film and I cant watch Iris as its too personal and painful the list is getting longer!

Mike Report 11 Oct 2005 06:56

I choke up sometimes, not because a film is sad or very moving (although they do have the same effect) but because it has been so beautifully performed, most recently 'Pride & Prejudice'. Not sure why that happens though, lol. Mike
