Hello Kath, another one, we will have to start a new grannies club......You are a month ahead of mine....Early January...! I don't think we knit things any more or the needles would be flying by now....so many cute thing out there these days and I am miles from shops............Trying to stay calm for the next couple of months.....Don't tell anyone she said....Whoops....Not told any of the family yet....Had to tell this lot....Sandra...

yes they use shawls these days....especially for their homecoming trip or for use at christening/baptism/naming ceremony...and it just screems heirloom form granny!!! :-))))))) get those needles out now!!!

Congratulations Sandra, from another first time gran!! Jac will be 3 in August and definitely granny's boy, even though he has another gran and stepgran so I'm chuffed. It will be cold in January - no harm in knitting, babies need lots of changes. I had kept the shawl my sister in law knitted for my daughter in 1970 and it was used for Jac. Enjoy - Christine xx

No we don't have wool shop here...you're pushing it a bit aren't you!! LOL No the nearest one I know of is in Caol near FortWilliam...it's called 'togs' you'll get all sorts of buttons, zips etc there as well but I'm warning you now if you get clausterphobic try somewhere else coz it's only a wee shop but it's jam packed from floor to ceiling but reckon you'd get what you're looking for!!!!
