Claire lol - I think I followed that pmsl No - there has been no man for 12 months - there has been no new man in that time - and there still isn't but I would like there to be :O) I live in hope ................. still got a good 30 years in me lolol

My mum's friend tried internet dating and found someone and they are getting married this summer. She must be in her later forties/early fifties and was quite shy but it has worked out. Have you tried it? i had a friend who used to do it. Claire

Do you feel ready to try it again? Do they have singles nights near where you are? There's a hotel near us and I think i've heard of singles nights being organised there in the past but I don't know if they still happen now. why not type what type person you are after and you never know if anyone might know a friend they can suggest you meet up with? To be honest Claire I don't want to go down that route again lol Would rather it be a friend or someone I know a bit - that's how my relationships have started before. Dunno if I am really ready - if my heart is in it - just know that I am lonely :O(

I met my husband when i was 16, so its not really something that I've had to cope with. I know a very intellectual chap where i live in the South East that is also lonely, has travelled a lot but has been out of work for a year or two post redundancy but he is constantly looking for a job - he loves reading and is always at the library - i'm 39 and he must be perhaps a bit older than me or poss a couple of years younger. would that be too young for you if he was early forties? He was a community relations manager for a pensions company. Can you join a new club where you might make friends and bump into someone that way, through friendship? Claire
