Actually Uzzi, I could get some respite. In fact, the night Fred had to go into a home because of the power cut was charged to Social Services as respite for me. |

Sadly Sharron you are "just" the carer and if you want respite then you have to pay. I think you are amazing. :-D :-D :-D :-D |

We had a nurse come out this morning to carry out observations on him because he had been sent home from hospital. |

Sharron you may not be the patient but you certainly have a lot of patience. |

Sharron, I know that you are not the patient but I often wonder......"who cares for the Carer?" |

Good that he's back and OK.....though I do think it would have been good for you to have him looked after for at least another couple of nights. |

He's up and rolling around downstairs, shouting up about some of the finer points of his medication ( actually the conversation did contain the words, poker, drains and biscuits but we got it sussed). |

I personally think that most hospitals are too quick to discharge patients with no thought at all for their situation at home and how weary the family (Sharron) is. |

Sharron you do make me laugh. It´s good that Fred is back home and back to his old self. My heart stopped a beat on your opening post ....Shame they didn´t keep him in overnight but then you still wouldn´t have got a good nights sleep for worrying. Take care of yourself xx |
