Sharron Report 6 Feb 2014 15:24

I have a pot of stew on the hob.

They gave him stew in hospital and now he wants some more, with a dumpling!

He has some stronger antibiotics which, quite worryingly, are for, amongst other things, sexually transmitted diseases.

What does he get up to when he is out?

:-D :-D :-D Your guess is as good as ours what Fred gets up to.
But it could be that woman that gives him fresh veg.... :-D :-D :-D :-D

Only just seen this. I'm glad Fred is coming home again, hopefully by ambulance this time. You look after him so well but don't forget to look after yourself as well.

Best wishes to you both.

Fresh veg?

She gives him pineapples and you don't part with those for nothing!

Truth to tell I was hoping he might have a night or two in hospital so I could get a night's sleep.

Still ne' mind ay.

14YEAR OLD GRANDSON,
HOW DO YOU MANAGE SHARRON XX

Sharron

Sharron Report 6 Feb 2014 17:29

He certainly has more energy than I do.

I do all the organizing and worrying and he does all the enjoying!

Just seen this Sharron, I hope Fred enjoys his stew and sleeps well all night so you can get some shut eye as well..

Sharron Report 6 Feb 2014 17:36

I don't sleep because I am listening.

Last good night's sleep I had was when he was in that rest home for the night and he was their responsibility.

As for the stew. He only wanted a small tea and put away a bowl of stew the same size a I ate, with a large dumpling!

Just seen this Sharron.
You didn't even have enough time to get a suitable stack of washing for him!!!

Glad they sorted his meds quickly, but I can imagine you'd have liked a good night's sleep :-|
Take care x

Sharron you do make me laugh. It´s good that Fred is back home and back to his old self. My heart stopped a beat on your opening post ....Shame they didn´t keep him in overnight but then you still wouldn´t have got a good nights sleep for worrying. Take care of yourself xx

I personally think that most hospitals are too quick to discharge patients with no thought at all for their situation at home and how weary the family (Sharron) is.
Ofcourse, it is good that Fred has bounced back bless him but a couple of days observations in hospital for a 94 year old gentleman plus the bonus of a couple of decent nights sleep and a wind down for the Carer would have been so much better
IMHO. Hope Fred is behaving himself now Sharron??!!

Sharron Report 7 Feb 2014 09:45

He's up and rolling around downstairs, shouting up about some of the finer points of his medication ( actually the conversation did contain the words, poker, drains and biscuits but we got it sussed).

He is having a shave now and thee is washing for him at the bottom of the stairs.

What a difference a day makes eh?

Good that he's back and OK.....though I do think it would have been good for you to have him looked after for at least another couple of nights.

It's not about me though is it?

I was never the patient.
